The OL wasn't really even a problem this year until Brown AND Staley were out. Obviously if you lose 2 upper tier T, and then your backup T goes on IR, and you have to play a total crap G like Zane Beadles at LT, and a rookie G Eric Magnuson at RT, you're going to have problems.

Brown will likely be back this week, or next week, and Staley will be back after the bye. Fusco has actually been solid, which leaves Kilgore and Tomlinson playing mediocre, but passable. The OL will be back to decent by the Seattle game when Garoppolo starts.

IMO our weak spots are better addressed in free agency. We have Tackles, and I hate drafting G or C. They're always crapshoots. Sign a top free agent G or C, and the line will be in good shape.

lol., i know its not sexy but i hope the team trades the first round pick and with our first pick i would be ok with the best center tackle guard in the country.

F*ck sexy...we're in a great position now to get a ton for that pick, ideally if we can find a way to get #1 to get the most trade value. Would love to see the Jets trade with us since they have 2 2nd rounders.

I think they're picking 10th or something like that right now. I'll take their #10, 2 2nd rounders and a 1st next year :)

Find a way to get Quentin Nelson, Mason Cole, Courtland Sutton and Bryce Love and I'm good.

lol I don't believe that for a second. Palmer is injured, and about to retire, all they have is Drew Stanton and Blaine Gabbert, and theyre trying to say theyre ok with the future QB situation? BS.

Yeah I call BS he's just trying to be PC about it. Honestly from the sounds of it BIll contacted lynch and they made the deal...doesn't sound like they wanted to deal with anyone else or try to push up the value in a bidding war

It definitely feels like the Pats could've gotten more for Garoppolo, but Belichick knows hes gone when Brady retires, so he wanted to send a respected guy like JG to a good situation.

lol since when are we a good situation? I'm sure he didn't want to send Jimmy to an AFC rival and it sounds like he was still bitter at Cleveland but Belichick is not sentimental. He would've taken the most he could get but i'm sure in his head sending Jimmy to Kyle and the NFC and possibly getting #34 instead of #33 is better than sending him to an AFC team and the craziness and cluster fuk that is Cleveland.

Considering that one of the front runners for MVP this year is also known for having small hands, this doesn't concern me.

The pass blocking hadnt been bad before the injuries. It was QB play and dropped passes. Both Staley and Brown were having solid seasons on the edges.

According to my math, Foxborough to Santa Clara is over 3,100 miles. I'm impressed that Jimmy G can fold space to shorten the distance.

When has he ever gushed on a guy he just got rid of like this?? I agree with the analysts I don't think he wanted to do this move, saw the kid as his future FQB but his hand was forced.
They should play him the last 5 games or so. His body of work is too small to know if we should declare him a franchise QB and sign him to a long term deal. Alternatively, they might suck it up and pay him top-5 money next year with the franchise tag to evaluate him over a full year. I am hopeful, but you just can't judge a guy on a handful of games. Look at Kaepernick. Looked awesome at first, traded Smith, gave him a big contract, then he got exposed. I, for one, would like to see Garoppulo a decent chunk this year before the team decides how to use its high first round pick.

I call him Jimmy G Spot because it feels good whenever I touch his face with my fingers. Even if it's just my phone screen.

He's retiring with Brady. He wont need Garoppolo. Plus he wanted to send him to a good situation. Shanahan is the best offensive mind in the game, and Belichick is close with Lynch. This kid did his clipboard time, hes ready to play. He deserves it. Everyone from his draft class had their shot but him.

Interesting that Belichick sent Jamie Collins to Cleveland when he tired of Collins' free-lancing on defense. That was another earth-shaking move almost of the same magnitude of the JG deal.
