Don't think he has the arm of Moon. Moon had an absolute cannon, up there with guys like Elway, Marino, George and Cunningham.

The Run and Shoot. Ah memories of the power-blue uniforms of the Houston Oilers. And some of the best track meets was when the Oilers played the Falcons in the late 80s early 90s. :)

Acccck! Don't remind me! The Oilers blowing a 35-3 halftime lead against the Bills to blow their chance for the Super Bowl. That's the meh part. Roger Craig fumbled and the threepeat died along with Joe's Niner career. I try not to think about the Oilers and how great Warren Moon was lol - bad memories not their fault.
Shoulda be Niners-Oilers that year.

That game was awesome.

Buddy Ryan fired his DC the next day. A day late, a dollar short and the wrong target. Going into a prevent offense (with Warren freakin' Moon!!!) cost them their shot at the Super Bowl.

Off topic. Yeah. I'm just trying to change the subject. The coronation of Jimmy G., who I like a lot, and the comparisons to Aaron Rodgers and Warren Moon is getting a bit thick for me. Dude's played less than 5 quarters of NFL football, lol, with a superb coach and supporting cast. In other words, WHOA!
Saints need to start losing and we need some college QB's to get HYPE. If we land in a Goff/Wentz type QB scenerio we could end up with a haul of picks.

Rosen, Jackson, Allen, Mayfield and Thorson. Maybe Darnold but that's not looking so good. It's a deep class but the top end isn't looking so great as of now.

Landing two firsts and second trading back would be nice. Say hello to an expedited rebuild.

Read my mind.. Saints have a tough remaining schedule if I'm not mistaken

I watched a lot of Lamar Jackson last year; none this year. He's Chip Kelly's dream come true. I don't know if his passing accuracy has improved this year; last year it was questionable.

He's improved substantially. He was rapidly becoming my favorite before Garoppolo made the whole issue moot.

Somewhere halfway through the season I knew The Chipster was toast. So after the bowls, I stopped paying attention to Lamar. He could be a #1/#2 overall and potential trade bait for the Niners.

My friend and I were talking about Jackson the other night. The kid has improved everywhere since last season. I would've been fine taking him at #1 (but preferably a trade down). He's gonna be a stud.

Gotta believe that "The G-Man" is a good bet to become a good player for sure, and maybe even a Great player down the road.

For the record, I don't think we'll wind up with #1/#2. Even starting the late departed Brian Hoyer. The schedule is far easier. No gimmes, but a lot of winnable games. The Cards lost their starting QB and their starting RB, though they hope they fixed the latter. The Giants lost both their starting corners to go along with oops on their top 3 WRs. The Bears had one outstanding game and a bunch of meeps. We took the Seahawks to within 3 at their house, and we nearly beat the Lambs.

I don't see anyone trading a haul for Jackson. (I hope they do) He's too erratic/chaotic behind the line. Still relies on his legs way too much. Has more rushing yards than many RB's. Maybe Watson's early success in the pocket will revive the dual threat hype. I hope it does.

A couple teams will be interested in that but it comes with more risk than going with pocket passers. I think he'll likley be one of those QB's that starts off great in the NFL then fizzles after defenses start to take away his strengths. I could be wrong but he just doesn't scream "longevity" as a pocket passer in the NFL.

Will he be able to play within a more complex passing system long term? If not, he's going to get injured running around in the NFL. Reminds me of RG3. His passing has gotten better this year but it's still not in a system that really translates to the NFL. There's only a few throws per game that really translate to things he'd be doing in the NFL. Unless he goes to a team that tries to keep him in his comfort zone but again, longevity is an issue with that.

Will a team give up a couple firsts or more for Jackson? I don't see it happening as of now. I hope I'm wrong.
Everywhere else online I'm going to hype Jackson up as much as I can. LOL
