Paraag... lol
So he front loaded the deal
Average is still right up there
Wow genius
🙄
So tired of hearing how awesome Paraag is..
We haven't spent money on players, not hard to manage contracts when your not paying guys.
Lol. naysayers were whinging about how we overpaid for Jimmy G. Others of us noted that his number would be comparatively reasonable in short order.
What's funny is that Paraags previous contracts are the reason, as much as anything, why they were able to front load the Jimmy deal. The Kaepernick contract in particular was extremely team friendly. If Kap had gotten a similar deal to other QBs we would have been potentially strapped with dead money. Paraag nailed the Kap contract which in turn allowed us to front load Jimmy and have our FQB get paid below avg per year the rest of the deal, never crippling the cap.

Ain't just Tannehill...though he is the worst, Stafford, Flacco and Manning. might not be train robberies....but they are definitely still a stick up.

And if he plays like a top 10 QB it's highway robbery for the Niners.

The 49ers have been one of the most monetarily creative, cap healthy teams in football since Paraag took over. He constantly manipulates the books and reworks deals. We gave a big contract to Kap when we thought he was a franchise guy, and somehow Paraag got a team option built into every single offseason.
He front loaded Garoppolo's deal so wed have more room to load up when we were actually contenders.

Was it really paraag outsmarting everyone? Seemed more like kaps agent screwing up. There was like a 13 mil signing bonus. Aside from that, nothing was guaranteed. I'm sure every other team would try to pull the same s**t at first. In the end kap got 3 of the 7 years. Even it were a standard contract, most contracts only had about that much guaranteed anyways(the first two or three years).

Most QBs seem to get at least half of their deal guaranteed. It's very unusual to be able to walk away after 3 of 7 years with no impact. Look at Flacos contract from the same time. Ravens had to extend him just to drop his cap hit and then were stuck with him at a huge salary. They would have killed to have Flaco on a Kap style deal. Even the Bears had to eat dead money on Mike Glennons contract, who made a hell of a lot more in his 1 win season than Kap made in any season.
