Not one bit.
Was told on here all opinions are equally valid regardless of actual research though so that would make that statement correct.
Lol I thought so. I should have sensed the /s in that post

I've been hearing this, "we need an upgrade at safety" thing all off-season long. My question is, what do y'all want, specifically? Like, for real. Don't say, "a difference maker" or "someone better". No, like, a guy with smoother hips to cover posts, better at man-coverage, more disciplined, what?
Can you point out how many games we lost because of our FS? What they did wrong?
All opinions are equally valid whether they are based on extensive game study and analysis or gut feeling overly emotional takes.
Greg Cosell and Grant Cohn are completely equal in their analysis.
Haha. I see what you did there.
In all seriousness info apologize if I was coming off snarky or arrogant. It was an honest question though. It was hard for me to see a game we lost because of bad safety play by AC.
We lost the chargers game after giving up 2 punt returns for like 150 yards and CJ gad several turnovers, one deep in our own territory.
Even the game against the cards where AC gave up the 75 yard TD the defense didn't give up any more points if I remember right. CJ had a fumble returned for a TD and then threw a couple picks and we still only gave up 17 points. More than adequate to beat them.
Question for you.
Full disclosure I like AC a lot.
You say We didn't lose any games because of safety play but would a better safety or a safety (Ward) that isn't always injured help us win games?
I know we didn't go after him but wouldn't a ball hawking safety such as an earl thomas who has a nose for the ball for picks, help us win an extra game or two?

Obviously, but what did ET get, $32 mil gar-own-teed? With an injury as serious and risky as Sherman's. That's a lot to stomach.

I used ET as an example.
Get rid of Ward & get rid of AA..
That would have covered some of the guaranteed money.
I'd be really surprised if the FO is depending on Ward this season with his injury history. Maybe they just have a lot of faith in AC and Exum and maybe another 2nd year player or maybe we draft a guy this year.

Yeah I wished we got rid of those two and signed earl Thomas. To me that was a great move and our team would've almost been complete

Agreed. I hope they are right about our safeties.

Probably OBJ and AB. Lynch let Jimmy down.

Garoppolo learned from Brady, who never needs Antonio Brown or OBJ to win.

One thing we know JG can do is figure defenses out. That is the biggest advantage of a QB who wasn't thrown into the fire straight out of college. What I can't wait for him to display is that and full understanding of how he can use Kyles offense to help us, once again, put an offense on the field that works like a surgeon.

OBJ is injury prone. 16 missed games in the last 2 years. He's missed 21 in his short career.
AB quit on his teammates and cost them. The Steelers needed to win in Week 17 to win their division and make the playoffs. They did neither.
People seem to conveniently forget little things like this.

To be fair...Steelers needed to win and get help. They won, didn't get help, which is why they didn't make the playoffs.
Antonio Brown quitting on his team was a BS move but the Steelers were fine without him at least for that game.
And we'll be fine without AB or OBJ.
