Agree. Great move by Kyle. Mike's coached some good QB's, however drafting QB's is another matter for him.

I like how you keep stressing that Jimmy quickly goes through his progressions and that he makes the right decisions, that's huge. He's a smart QB with a lot of arm talent.

I have to ponder is Jimmy moving through the progressions or is he being taught not to stare a receiver down to make a throw to the wr/te he wanted all along.

Theres a lot of factors there. When it's key reads or progression reads, hes moving through his progression.

When he knows, pre-snap, where he wants to go with the ball bases off his pre-snap read, he'll look a guy off to open up his guy more.

Either way it's really good QB play.

One reason we blew the Broncos out in the SB, according to Holmgren, was they knew they could get the DEN safeties to move wherever they looked. So, they ran a PIN several times and had Joe state down the in route to make the safeties jump it and they'd throw it over the top for a TD.

His injury was non-contact. You can have an all-pro offensive line and smill players everywhere and the QB can still get hurt. Injuries like the one he sustained are concerning.

Seemed ass backward. With that s**tty patchwork line in 2017, he should've been injuries during those 7 games but wasn't. With an improved line in 2018, he got injured 3 games into the season. Jimmy went hero and paid the price. Very similar to Wentz playing the hero.

I think it will take him a few series of downs to settle him back into where he's going to feel comfortable with his knee during week 1. That, and maybe getting knocked down and seeing that he can get right back up perfectly fine will mentally tell himself, "your knee is fine, just go through the reads and make the throws". I don't know what will happen this next season, but I don't imagine that we will be without Jimmy G under center at all.

that's why Shanahan prefers the draft to be held prior to the draft. They are never sure if a player, they target, is available at their pick. If not, pick the position up in FA. Makes total sense.
