I'm happy with the contract. It felt like a fortune at the time, but now after seeing what Wilson got and what the new contracts are going to demand, it's a good deal.
Even if JG isn't Brady, Brees, or Rogers, that's fine too, I just want him to be consistently top 10 (top 5-7 range would be awesome) and also stay healthy.
That's going to require management and coaching staff to make sure they're doing everything they can to keep him healthy. I get that his latest injury wasn't a typical injury, but unfortunately that doesn't matter. If he's not suited up for 16-19 games every season, then he's not living up to his contract and worse, we won't be winning as many games.
Word
He was a 4 yr starter in college didn't miss any games...shows you injuries can happen to anyone regardless of genetics and s**t. It's a violent sport.
I will say things like concussions and hamstring injuries kinda worry me more. Those are things that are reoccurring and it's not like you can just have surgery and you're good to go.
Agree, and Brees was able to overcome a rotator cuff injury and have a wonderful career. An injury that directly relates to throwing and could have ended his career.
Having said that, I think the knee he injured is his plant foot, so he really can't afford to get any more serious knee injuries in that area. So, I fully expect next year to see ShanaLynch to invest in the OLine to some extent next year to make sure that the interior line can hold up against all the middle pass rushers in the NFC west.
