people still clinging to a few now forgotten games in 2017. like last year when the seattle game was supposed to be some turning point in our franchise? i swear this team could stumble out of the gates and jimmy could look like crap but we would still have people saying../ but but but.. what about what he did in six game sin 20-17.

Hes pretty soft. He would have had a whole year to recover. Smh.

you know thats how it starts. well . we hope he will be ready. like jet and the others. then when they are not. we have built in excuses lined up for poor play. and then if they do play and struggle.. then homers roll out,.. well it really takes a full year to heal from an acl. so NEXT year will be our year

jimmy needs to play a bit in pre season in my opinion as does the jet and our new linebacker

Well what the hell do you want everyone to look at? His 5 games were the most exposure we've ever seen of him with an actual healthy team (sort of).

I understand you have to play pessimist in here, but at some point why don't you just sit back and see how it unfolds

no matter what, good play or bad play, Jimmy NEEDS a full 16-game season under his belt. how many years has he been in the league now? even if he has an average year, I want a full season.
He can't help that he backed up GOAT Jr.
His 2017 run was enough for me. And here's why:
  1. Jimmy didn't know the full playbook and was improvising and still was wildly successful.
  2. His lightning quick release. He doesn't have any major weaknesses with his mechanics.
  3. He wasn't running a gimmicky offense like Harbaugh had with Kap. There's nothing to "figure out". You beat him by outscheming Shanahan and hitting him.
  4. He's a natural leader. Kap, for example, wasn't a leader. He was a black kid raised by white parents and had an identity crisis. We don't have to worry about anything other than Jimmy banging the occasional porn star. You can't hate on a guy for loving big teddies.
  5. Jimmy has a better defense this year than he's ever had and a better supporting cast than he had in 2017/2018.
If we fail next season, it won't be because of Jimmy.

i don't care. I love the small sample size we saw from him, but like I said, good or bad, he needs a FULL 16-game season under his belt. period.

sooner or later. people have to stop looking at that and judge jimmy kyle and the team on what they do moving forward. i could say the same about those who cling to 2017. i understand the need to be optimistic, especially with peter king feeding the homers today, but at some point. lets just see what unfolds. how many times over the years do we hear things like.. we have the best front 7 in football. our secondary could be 1981 etc etc. lets see if the team is actually ready to play a road game vs the bucs. which we could not do at all last year. before we crown them

its called being realistic. i have been fooled to much by this franchise since jh left
I haven't lost any hope with Jimmy G

It was just unfortunate we have to wait one more year to see him play a full season.

But as long as he still progresses and our OL can stay healthy again, i can see this offense being the best it's been in quite sometime.

Deebo and Hurd are both great additions to our WR core.

Baloney cc...there's a huge difference from being objective/realistic and being super pessimistic. A lot of your comments have been the latter.

The offense was starting to come together right when he went down. We might have actually beat KC that day

realistic? if you were realistic than you would've not freaked out about Shanahan in 2017 during his first year ignoring all the circumstances he had around him that he walked into. your posts are 100% pessimistic.

Jimmy was 20 for 30, with 251 yards passing, 2 TD's and 0 INT's with a 8.4avg before he went down. we ended up losing 27-38. absolutely had a good chance to beat them if he remained in the game.

Yup, if I'm looking at it objectively there's positives and negatives with JG (like most players).

The ACL was devastating and a freak accident. He needed that yr under kyle and we have to wait another yr to see him grow, which is a bummer.

He's got a above avg arm, super quick release, is pretty damn good under pressure, and very accurate in the short two intermediate passes. He seems pretty cerebral as far as getting the plays and reading a D.

I question his footwork and see him throwing off his back foot wayyy too much. I question his deep ball accuracy, more for the fact that we don't see him throw it long very often and i wonder if he trusted his ability to get it in the right spot? Also at times you have to wonder if he's on the same page with his receivers....a lot of those things are stuff you learn as you get more snaps and time as a starting QB.

I think JG has the making of a very good QB and just needs more game time.

Peter king wrote this today when discussing his NFL team ranks..

In his fateful last start, when he ran left and tore his ACL at Kansas City, these were the last four drives he executed that afternoon, going head to head with Patrick Mahomes at rabid Arrowhead: 54 yards to a field goal, 87 yards to a touchdown, 77 yards to a touchdown, 58 yards to a field goal. In his 10 NFL starts, he's a 66-percent passer.
