Hope he learned his lesson. Throwing the ball is the most important thing he can do to help the team win. Don't hero the rest of the time.

Granted, however it was a freak injury, his knee was untouched

It was just unfortunate we have to wait one more year to see him play a full season.
But as long as he still progresses and our OL can stay healthy again, i can see this offense being the best it's been in quite sometime.
Deebo and Hurd are both great additions to our WR core.
The offense was starting to come together right when he went down. We might have actually beat KC that day
Jimmy was 20 for 30, with 251 yards passing, 2 TD's and 0 INT's with a 8.4avg before he went down. we ended up losing 27-38. absolutely had a good chance to beat them if he remained in the game.
you can dream. our defense could not contain that offense.. andy let up on us big time. if your theory was true and jimmy did play the entire game.. we may have scored points.. there is no way our defense could have held them, that day. the defense showed up totally unready to play the game. i get your need to see everything positive but you can not be blind to our defense that day. with our without jimmy

Baloney cc...there's a huge difference from being objective/realistic and being super pessimistic. A lot of your comments have been the latter.
i have said nice things overall about lynch and his free agents. and the top three picks in the draft and signing reynolds. we picked second overall. we still have glaring questions in two key areas. an 8 win team. also there is no crime to say.. lets see jimmy actually play a full season before we crown him.

True. The problem was compounded by the bad decision to cut back unnecessarily. He won't do that again. Hopefully in other scenarios between the hashes he slides if it's not necessary to dive ahead and take a hit.

Garoppolo's injury was sustained from bad turf, and hes had an extremely smooth and cautious comeback from his ACL surgery. His game is not based on a lot of cutting or speed. There's absolutely no reason to suspect that he will be anything less than 100%.
To call him injury prone, and question why Jerry Rice came back so much earlier, as if something is wrong with him, just screams of something a troll would do. Anyone who has been paying attention knows his recovery is going exactly the way the 49ers had hoped, and unless they're planning on having him run around like Michael Vick, hes not going to be at much of a risk for re-injury.

The Chiefs' offense did that to EVERYBODY for much of the season, especially in the 1st half of the season. Only the Broncos slowed them down for awhile before being overwhelmed. It's not like our defense was uniquely inept.

agree. i want to see him play a bit in pre season to shake off the rust and also to see if he can take a hit.. with the way our offensive line looks. him taking a hit appears to be the least of my worries

uhm,, yes our defense was inept.,., not prepared and was horrid in that game and others. i could care less about other teams and how they matched up with the chiefs. we can thank andy it was not a real bad blow out

Our defense was prepared. No one stopped that offense. Not taking other games into account means that you are intentionally cherrypicking, ignoring context.

And the original comment was in regards to how Jimmy G played that game, this is the JG thread right? yes we can all agree our defense overall didn't get the job done last yr....hence why they upgraded on the defensive side of the ball.
regardless of that, Jimmy G still had SF within on score in that game before getting hurt.
King said this with regards to JG when talking about his NFL power rankings.
In his fateful last start, when he ran left and tore his ACL at Kansas City, these were the last four drives he executed that afternoon, going head to head with Patrick Mahomes at rabid Arrowhead: 54 yards to a field goal, 87 yards to a touchdown, 77 yards to a touchdown, 58 yards to a field goal. In his 10 NFL starts, he's a 66-percent passer.
