Dude, the only thing that Jimmy did on that play was put his shoulder into the defender. That was dumb. As far as his knee, all he did was cut and it gave out. That could literally happen at any point in the game.

I dont mind him scrambling as long as he throws the ball away, runs out of bounds, slides, and doesn't seek out contact.

In the prior games he was hit and hit hard, and I've been reading our current Head Coach of Strength and Conditioning, he's a big believer in that injuries just don't happen like that. He's written that it's an accumulation of minor injuries that just wears the body out until a minor incident is the one that triggers the straw on the camels back.

In other words, a good defense and a strong run game will do as much, or more, for Jimmy than having all first round picks on that OLine.

you can't do anything to prevent an injury like he had last year.

he needs to be smarter in avoiding big hits though.

I think overall, the Head of Medicals guy has to be smart about all his players. I think a big part of injuries are about putting too much on a persons body. I mean these guys are genetic mutants, and they are bigger, stronger and faster than 99% of the human population. Better depth will allow the starters to rest and recover from minor injuries. Mullen's is going to be really important, if that's the case, to rest Jimmy in meaningless quarters and meaningless games.

Since they [Ben Peterson] measure every player at the beginning of the season when healthy, you can also use precise data to see how much power something like a sprained ankle has recovered. In football terms, you could track the force as a wide receiver plants a foot and cuts; if the number is a lot less than their healthy value, you might need to slow down their return or order more intense therapy on it.
So what does it add up to? Expect lighter practices, more rotation of subs, and maybe an effort to find players with fewer "miles on them" in the draft

The same list doesn't have Brady in the Top 5.

The guy at 3 threw for nearly 1700 less yards then the guy at 6. A full 1/3rd less productive.
I mean if Jimmy g doesn't have a good year we would have paid 60 million so far for a ACL injury and a bad year. The pressure is on, could be the worst contract ever and precisely why you don't see them structured that way. They could have just franchised him as well. That being said, we are winning the Super Bowl and I'm not that concerned.

Yup. Where would Joe and Steve be without Dean and Haley?

Hate to break it to you, but Steve didn't have those 2 He had Tim Harris, Ricky Jackson, Kevin Green, and some other guys I can't remember. But mostly patch work FA pass rushers in the twilight of their years but still effective.

Steve got Haley harassing him, reminding him he ain't no Joe

It's one of the many reasons I love Steve too. For putting up with so much s**t to get out of the long shadow of GOAT Joe

Don't forget that Haley going to Dallas helped keep Steve and the Niners out of the SB a couple of times.
