Guys, predicting 10+ wins will only give you anxiety. Anything over 9 is a luxury with this team's recent injury history. Until they prove they can have their first good health season since 2013 (!) one should keep their expectations in check.

Those are positions that we can draft in the late 20s / early 30s next year

We really don't know one way or the other how our OLine will play. One reason is when Jimmy went down, we had BeatHard and Mullens operating at center. BeatHard tends to get Beat Hard because he holds the ball too long, and Mullens tends to get sacked because he doesn't have the arm strength to beat man on a cover zero blitz quick enough. In other words, with regards to Mullens, you crowd the LOS in zone, man up on the recievers and let the blitz get to him becuse he can't throw the frozen rope to the manned up WR cutting a 10 yard out. His arm isn't strong enough for that pattern. So he does the safe thing and takes a sack.
So while I do have concerns about the OLine like you do. I think a big part of last years atrocious QB hit numbers is simply the QB's themselves.
And I think you are right. Some of the draft nerds say next years OLinemen are going to be a great class, or something like that. This years class was defensive linemen and WR's. (I think) and so it really does pay to wait for talent to come to you instead of pressing and drafting for need and getting mediocre talent vs outstanding talent.Originally posted by NinerBuff:Originally posted by Giedi:Originally posted by cciowa:i just do not get it. we have a zillion dollar qb coming off major knee surgery but we are arrogant to think we can kick fixing the o line down the road another year.. oh well here is to " hoping" they are healthy and "continuity" will help. f**k continuity. you need a couple nasty guards like conrad dobler who would just bite people. oh well. i am "hoping" reynolds will be that guyOriginally posted by NinerBuff:Originally posted by Dajanksta:Not gonna lie. And I wasn't insinuating that we have a great or even good O-line, but with a year of continuity and having Jimmy's quick release back, I envision an improvement.
