In case anyone missed it, I cut up each of his 6 passes starting here. If you think Jimmy needs to slide around the pocket more, please take 2 minutes out of your day to check them out. My analysis of the coverages are best guesses since there is no all22 in the preseason.

Local radio callers are so misinformed. Everyone calling in talking about how they want to see Jimmy slide around the pocket, not have happy feet, etc. Not totally their fault but it shows how everyone will listen to the TV color commentary and run with whatever is said. The MNF crew kept mentioning how Jimmy needs to feel the pressure or whatever they were babbling about. There's a reason why coaches, when reviewing film, have a clicker in their hand. It's because there are 22 guys running around and you can't watch everything at once. So you rewind and watch, rewind and watch.

On his 6 passes, two had free rushers, one had the Center shoved back in Jimmy's face. TV color analysts have a tough job, watching a play once then having to break it down one second later. But what they say weighs so heavily on what people think.

I don't know how you listen to sports talk radio, thl. The hosts and callers are insufferable and dumb as f.

I can't get enough football/sports. But when they do open call in, it reminds me of why it's entertaining but in a "smh" kind of way.

JTO Sullivan said reiterated the exact same thing in his film review

Thank you for this!

Yeah someone else posted a video breakdown of all his passes by JTO and he was pissed at the MNF crew because they had no clue what they were talking about...a lot of misinformation.

this ^^^

How can a network, as big as ESPN is, hire and keep analysts like McFarland & Tessitore ? It makes zero sense to me.

If you're looking for some more football content to consume, I recommend picking up Lombardi's Gridiron Genius: A Master Class in Winning Championships and Building Dynasties in the NFL book.

A lot of the book focuses on the 2 greatest coaches of all time: Bill Walsh and Bill Belichick. Many, many, many great anecdotes from Lombardi.

I'm sure Booger know his stuff. It's just that color analysts have to make spot assessments immediately after the play and that's tough to do. No other sport has 22 players running around at full speed. Even if it's just a 3 second play, it's near impossible to see everything.

I get the immediate interpretation of a play being difficult. However, when he says stuff like Broncos OC, R Scangarello, is taking Shanahan's scheme and making it is own by adding a bubble screen or jet sweep, c'mon. Or, that Shanahan likes his QBs to be able roll out. If these analysts aren't fully knowledgeable and prepared for a game, get someone who is.

Good point.

Coaches take hours to evaluate film to come to certain conclusions, but analysts have literally seconds to come up with their conclusions.

BTW, thank you for your film work. It always add excellent content.

The Over/Under for them showing the play when Jimmy got hurt during the broadcast..... 4.5

What's the O/U for how many times they show a camera shot of the exact spot on the field where it happened while a play is being run so the broadcast crew totally misses showing it? 10.5?
