Fangio's D had better ERs.

Nope. Play calling and better oline play mixed in with jimmys quick release

We also didn't just practice 2x against their players heading into the game.

Some fans just can't admit when a player plays well or the game plan is better. I guess logic flies out the window, it's the third preseason game so of course the playcalling is going to be a little better and we got Mike person back which helped ( no horrible domino effect along the ol) so there you go

But, that works both ways doesn't it?
Ahh normalcy has washed back over the red zone. The calls to play our franchise quarterback into the fourth quarter of the fourth preseason game behind a bunch of offensive lineman who won't make the team have subsided. All is well.
This ended up on page 2. So disappoint.

Stats looked good but the ball didn't seem like it was zipping out of his hand.

He had zip on a couple of his passes.

Yeah but most were fluttering. I'm not worried about preseason stats but am worried that the ball hasn't been all that crisp coming out of his hand.

ha,, i do not think anyone lobbied for that!.kyle did call a better game plan saturday. and jimmy was dang good and thats that to me. the o line is still unacceptable but we got 2 out of 3 right saturday
I'm more concerned about JG's WRs. Our top WRs are Goodwin and Pettis. That is not very good and these guys would not be #1s on any other team. We have talent in Deebo and Hurd but banking on rookie WRs will not help a QB very much.

i never was a goodwin fan and who knows what we have in pettis. then james bourne taylor.. as you said. our fan base tends ot over value our own players to much and yes what we have would be threes on other teams in my opinion. thats why.. even if its unrealistic.. i would have been happy to have the two rookies and mathews starting day one.

They've moved onto trashing Pettis, try and keep up

What's not too like about Quise? Lightening fast, great guy, cheap, good hands, etc

actually i am more ok with james than taylor and goodwin. with pettis. when i hear the coach calling him out. i tend to listen to it. i question goodwins commitment to football and his tough ness and the fact he is a concussion away from retiring. taylor , i am tired of his injuries and i am leaning to the fact he was a one hit wonder who did some good things in 2017 but means nothing now. again. there was a reason why kyle brought in three new guys in some new tight ends

This. And to add to it...having a speed guy like him to take the top off defenses & give them something to think about is something I'd take anytime. He's a WR that fits in well with this group.

I was getting so pissed off after a sack or pass break they didn't show a replay or mention who it was. Its almost as if they are spiteful the 49ers were making plays. It was the worst commentating I've ever seen or heard

Make the playoffs and the super bowl and the commentator bent over backwards to kiss the 49er teams azz.

I am so lucky to have seen 6 super bowls and 5 wins, and each time, the broadcasters have nothing else to talk about, but my team.

He was still a little off on some throws but improved throughout the game.

Agree. And he can only get better. If he goes out of bounds instead of taking on linebackers - he'll be fine this year. Add in a healthy 2019 campaign for Bosa and we may make the playoffs yet.
Solid progress by JG - He just needed more time and better protection.

Obviously a better performance. Teetering on great, imo. But still have concerns about that accuracy (please don't post the handful of elite throws he made as your evidence, he missed on several as well).

His worst throw on Saturday was the one that was blocked at the line. Garoppolo threw it into his shoulder pads -- the dude didn't even jump. Just awful.

Hopefully that stuff comes back to him.
