Obviously a better performance. Teetering on great, imo. But still have concerns about that accuracy (please don't post the handful of elite throws he made as your evidence, he missed on several as well).

His worst throw on Saturday was the one that was blocked at the line. Garoppolo threw it into his shoulder pads -- the dude didn't even jump. Just awful.

Hopefully that stuff comes back to him.

Definitely. Slowly shaking that rust off and getting his feel for the game back. Still lots of room to grow but encouraging indeed.

Still A LOT of room to grow, but I have zero doubts about that. The only thing I care about is Jimmy G. making it through a 15 game season.......the last game he can sit out cause if he starts 15 games, 9ers SHOULD be in the playoffs.

Agree, that it was good to see him start to shake the rust off. He got hit a couple of times and was fine. That is really encouraging.

the stuff in the flat to juice is what we need along with screens to our good running backs we have. and having kittle in there will help jimmy

Solid progress by JG - He just needed more time and better protection.

Agreed, good progress. And he will just get better and better over time. I think it's sometimes forgotten Garoppolo has only 10 total NFL starts. 10! You can just see his ability out there...and last year while injured, he gained a better understanding of the playbook along with all that time spent w/ Mike Shanahan. Add in the early years of tutelage from the best in the business, Belichick & Brady, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what he can do for this team this year and beyond.

I see the alarm has worn off. This is a good thing.

However, I will deliver the same message that I delivered after the last preseason game and leave it at that:

PRESEASON
MEANS
NOTHING

Still mad at that damn near pick he threw in the red zone. What was my boy thinking?!

I'm not mad at it though I'd love to see him avoid throwing into triple covereage. I thought the ball placement itself was actually perfect on that. If Pettis isn't interfered with(surprised at no call but whatever) I think he makes that grab. It was more dangerous if the ball is bounced around...not good odds when you have 3 vs 1 disadvantage.

It looked to me like he started out still a little rusty with the ball placement but was spot on once he got comfortable.

I was more concerned about him not taking some open looks and brought it up in the Dante thread. Seems odd that he'd ignore DP being open on one 3rd down and go to Dwelley who was more covered and then throw to Dante into triple coverage.

edit: went back to look at that 3rd down play to Dwelley and I think the pocket was getting pushed back on him on the left side and he didn't feel he could hang in there to ensure Dante was making his break or to get the ball over those guys going that way and decided to throw to the more open lane to Dwelley.

Also rewatched the triple coverage play and DB definitely had Dante's right arm pulled to the side so Dante was playing DB on that one more so than WR.

sit him down.. no need to play against the Chargers..
this year I predict jimmy g will throw some touchdowns. this year I predict jimmy g will throw some picks. every once in a while jimmy g will hold on to the ball to long and take an unnecessary sack...... all of these things I predict will come true. I also predict jimmy g will lead this team to 9 or 10 wins and very close to the playoffs. dude is going to be a good quarterback in this league.... how good remains to be seen??? go niners
