I've always thought Fat Andy's coaching weakness was defenses. Now, granted, he's had some good ones with the Eagles, but I never felt like he could maintain good defenses without a good DC to help him. Spagnulo is a good DC, and ShanaLynch took advantage of the DC transition firesale to acquire Dee Ford. But Fat Andy's defenses never really impressed me for some reason. Not the way Vic Fangio's defense, Bellicheats, Monte Kiffen, Dungy's, or Seifert/Carroll's defenses did.
Reid is an offensive coach, and everyone you listed are defensive guys.
His disciple Nagy went to Chicago and inherited a Fangio led defense.
His disciple Pederson went to Philadelphia and inherited a Schwartz led defense.
No reason to doubt he could have a good defense too but Reid being at the level he is bringing in his own staff from scratch is different than those other two guys.
Billick and Walsh are two offensive guys with great defenses. Gruden with Kiffen -- again grudens an offensive guy with great defense. That's my point. None of Fat Andy's defenses really put the fear of god into opposing teams -- the way the examples I posted did. That includes my examples of the defensive head coaches also. Defense wins championships.

Some analysts predict over 4000 yards passing? That'd be great, but how about stay healthy for a whole season and make playoffs? Any stats after that is icing on the cake.

I think the competition between Mullens and Jimmy will make Jimmy a better player. It's kind of like Joe vs Steve all over again. But clearly, in terms of physical tools, Jimmy outclasses Mullens. If Jimmy stays healthy, this is going to be a good QB year for Jimmy.

I fully believe this. Garoppolo is going to step up to the challenge, compete like the competitor he is, and respond with winning results. I truly believe this from the talent & leadership I've seen him display. Those years learning firsthand from the best in the business, Belichick & Brady, and now Kyle...it's Garoppolo's time right now.

I'm not denying the history.
Just trying to illustrate why Andy Reid probably never had a defensive stud for a DC.
And hence why he still hasn't won the big one.

Well, I don't think he really had a franchise QB either. I mean McNabb is no Tom Brady or Joe Montana.
Personally, I think a coach that's confident in his offensive prowess can devote time and draft capital to the defense like the good coaches that have won super bowls. The fact that Fat Andy is so offensive centered and is constantly changing DC's - strikes me as a coach that may have confidence issues on his offensive prowess. Again, I don't really follow any other team than the 49ers - so I could be dead wrong, but that's just how I'm reading it right now.

4000 yds = staying healthy, for most games anyway. Doesn't guarantee playoffs though. I think being good enough to make the playoffs will hinge on the defense more than the offense anyway.

Oh Mike silver the clown? Yeah he's just trying to stir up some stupid Clickbait. The 49ers like Nick Mullens wow that's really some revelation. So that means they automatically don't like Jimmy except they do. They can like both QBs equally the same they're not mutually exclusive.
