Haha

Headline in 2020: Mullens under pressure to produce or 49ers look to the draft for a new QB

Headline 2022: 49ers 2nd year QB under pressure to produce or 49ers ready to draft his replacement

I think the competition between Mullens and Jimmy will make Jimmy a better player. It's kind of like Joe vs Steve all over again. But clearly, in terms of physical tools, Jimmy outclasses Mullens. If Jimmy stays healthy, this is going to be a good QB year for Jimmy.

agreed

I'm glad Garrapolo feels pressure. His starting job shouldn't feel safe. There was too much blowing smoke up his ass from the fans and media last year.

Now hopefully the big expectations will allow him to focus and get back to the guy people saw in 2017.
People need to just let Jimmy play. If he's healthy, he plays. The end.

Except Joe and Steve are both sporting gold jackets.

Don't blame Mike Silver, he's a credible writer who has roots to this franchise dating back to the Joe Montana days . He's just being a mouth peace for everyone favorite fat man-child "owner", the anger should be directed towards that idiot

b******t unnecessary pressure in a season that has enough pressure as is, I'm getting 2014 flashbacks

Well back in '88 they were both ordinary Joe's wearing ordinary Joe stuff. Not to different from Joe Mullen and Joe Jimmy of today.

Agree. Now if he's thinking of taking on a linebacker for extra yardage, he is going to think twice because of Mullens.

man, you can make a **lot** of money playing football. Wow.
I like what silver said... our franchise qb should feel some pressure. If he cant handle it then we can find a real qb.

Just trying to illustrate why Andy Reid probably never had a defensive stud for a DC.

And hence why he still hasn't won the big one.

Jim Johnson was pretty good imo...

this is the nfl, they all feel pressure all the time. if the pressure of nick mullens as the backup is too much for jimmy to handle then he really should think of another line of work. something tells me he doesn't care about who his backup is.
