Just going by last year, Jimmy didn't play well the first two games and didn't play well until 2nd half of 3rd game... so its not like he was throwing 400 yards 5 tds every game. Consistently jimmy G hasn't been able to stay healthy so theres that too if you're gonna bring up consistency. I think Jimmy has way more potential to be great, but I think he still needs more starts under his belt. He will play good this week, but I don't think hes gonna have a 300-400 yard game with 4 tds. Our team will win though .
A win is a win, whether its a monster game or just enough to win. Hell I'll take a defensive win for week 1.
I think a big factor in last years slow offensive performance was that every member of that OLine was new (in a sense) to each other from the previous year. That's the problem with the ZBS system, the OLine has to be like one creature vs in man blocking, each OLineman has to individually beat his opponent DLineman. Today, a good part of that OLine have played together for a while (at least more than a couple of games) vs last year. So that should be a step up. As for Jimmy, I'm viewing his injury like a benching. Sometimes a QB can learn more from the bench than from playing. A La Aaron Rogers sitting behind Bret Farve. At least I hope so in Jimmy's case.
