Jimmy looked rough, but to be honest so did Shanny, the play calling was bland. I say they both will clean this up and get better as the season progresses. Hopefully the offense slowly gets better and the defense balls out.

He was good enough, but that's because the D balled out.
I fully expect a lot of improvement.

I just smh at some of the idiotic comments. It was his first real game in a year, his supporting cast dropping passes, committing penalties, on the road ... He will be fine.

Jimmy missed wide open Wr's all game long. Shanny doesn't trust him. I hope it's just rust but he looked below average. So was the play falling

Ball wobbled on his throws quite a bit today. Not worried but watching.

He missed several easy completions and threw a pick 6. Let's be a little more objective—he had a poor game. He absolutely needs to improve. I'd like to think that he will.

Very rarely did he throw at anyone in stride. He needs to shake that tust off asap because he was not good today

For now, just win ugly Alex Smith style, circa 2011.
In a few weeks, the expectation of the franchise Jimmy will be there.
I keep saying this and at times it sounds like nobody listens to me, but the 49ers offense in weeks 1-3 under Shanahan every season have been average AF , while the offense in November/December of both seasons have looked a lot better.
So late 2018 Mullens looks better than 2018 Jimmy (maybe) but 2017 Jimmy looks better than all by a longshot.
It's this damn Shanahan offense which for all of it's great potential is hard for the skill players and QBs early on. The payoff is that when everything is in sync you get an offense that not even Belichick can stop.
If easier results are what you want, I'm sure Shanahan could run it more like McVay. But then you run the risk of getting really exposed....

Idiotic for calling out the obvious? Jimmy wasn't terrible but some of his mistakes are just glaring. Anyway let's see what happens. What if he's like this week 5,6,7? Then what? "Well come on guys that's 16 games that's only one actual season he's played. Let's give him at least 2 full seasons before we judge. In 2021 he's gonna ball out haters."
Again I'm not hating...I just don't want Alex Smith 2.0 as far as the whole "wait and see" approach. We've tried that in the past and it just leaves you with major blue balls as a fan. Hopefully by week 3-4 he's got his s**t together.

Throwing behind to much. Hopefully he gets that fixed next week.

Jimmy needs a legit #1 WR. Lynch needs to go all in if one becomes available before the deadline. I'm hoping it's someone like Evans, Hilton, Green, or Rice, if their teams start off poorly and start selling off players for draft picks.

He doesn't have a lot of NFL experience. He's coming off an ACL. You can't be too positive or negative about his play in the early going. We'll have a better idea by the half way point if he can stay healthy.
