Step up, Jimmy and do it fast

Literally his first real NFL action in almost an entire calendar year, and it was only his 11th career start. Obviously hes not going to look like a pro bowler. Common sense.

Hes 9-2 in his career BTW.

A pro bowler? Look like a functional NFL QB. Excuses don't matter for him now. His head coach was terrified to run a real NFL offense

Trent Dilfer won a super bowl btw

It gets a LOT worse than 67% comp. with 226 yds and 1/1 TD/INT.

What does Trent Dilfer have to do with this?

Common sense would tell you that only having 11 career starts, and missing an entire season with an ACL injury, hes probably going to have rust. Any fan who cant understand that is delusional.

At the end of this season, if hes still playing mediocre? That would be making excuses for him. One game into his comeback from major knee surgery? Thats a very legitimate reason for starting slow. Fans who demand greatness under every circumstance, regardless of situation are incredibly narrow minded.

I liked how Jimmy wasn't really phased by the pick 6. He bounced back with the same focus. Says a lot about his character, and I think that's crucial!

Did he really bounce back though? He played terrible all game long.

This

He had two TDs called back. His performance would have been viewed quite differently if they dont get called back.

If he completed more passes I bet his stat line would look quite a bit different I tell ya

and its also only his 11th career start

Exactly, people need to chill out a bit, the guy tore his ACL for cry out loud. You should be happy his knee has recovered OK to begin with unlike McKinnon.

You need to give him at least a few more games before you start getting on his case.

In his 11ty career start after not playing for a year coming back from an ACL tear ON THE ROAD ON THE EAST COAST WITH NO RUN GAME, curious what your expectations were, because one catch by James Jr. and you seem to be all over his dic... well we know what..

the penalties created the space for the TD's.

that said he needs more game time. when taylor gets back he will be happier as well.

The other one that got called back, for sure though

18/27 166 and a pick six. Looked worse than Kap under Chip Kelly. He looked like s**t and Kyle is scared to run a real offense.

Don't undersell how bad Kap was. Kyle wanted to run a lot and play small ball through the air to keep TB's potent offense off the field. I'm glad that Kyle didn't put the game on JG's shoulders considering that this was his first game in nearly a year.

Of course, he would have had two TDs if not for the niners shooting themselves in the foot with the penalties. QB rating would be much better. We gotta cleanup those sloppy details which we all saw during the preseason. Also, did not help that we had no run game. Hopefully, the line gets better and meshes better with each game. Fortunately, the niners can ease their way since the schedules toughest opponents are supposed to come a little later and we knock off the mistakes by then.
Pass protect is average at best. Jimmy isn't as mobile as that first year where he'd extend plays and complete clutch throws . We don't seem to be going vertical/deep ever, I mean can I at least see one bomb attempt?

The goods news , first game back, I think he can do much better and he will. If he didn't get The first td to kittle called back it could have been an entirely different game. We still have Mullens.

Think what this place would have been like had we lost the game!

Lighten up Francis. Whatever happens there will always be defeats, disappointments and injuries. Enjoy the good monents.
Can anyone confirm/deny whether he seems to make most his bad throws/decision on throws to the left sideline?
Should fix the pick 6 problem, he did the same s**t to Breida against the Lions last year late in the game but was bailed by a penalty iirc.

That s**t should not happened more than once. Keep the head straight til you throw the ball.

Right? If it's week 8 and Jimmy still looks shakey, I get the point. But it's the guys first real (sorry, preseason doesn't count) game action off of an ACL AND he has a very young group of WRs.

I'm basking in the glory of being 1-0 and finally having a dominant presence on the edges of our Dline.
