Ya this big time. Everyone is excited for him to get slammed back there. Hoyer had issues finding players open and throwing down field. Beathard was getting crushed because there wasn't enough time for the routes to develop or he held the ball tomlong. Jimmy isn't mobile and if our WR don't get open or the paper thin online simply folds at the hike of the football he won't be any better.

Now we should trade for Martavis Bryant
On my way to bed I read this

I am waiting for pdizo and CC approval.

Bed?
We won't be drafting Barkley.

I can't really see much of a down side with this trade other than Jimmy may get killed before the end of the season.

He's going to cost less than Cousins, he's further developed than any of the QB's in the draft. We'll get more than enough compensation for the 2nd rounder when we trade back a few spots with a qb needy team.

Good move.

It's the right move. I got a lot of s**t for saying that Cousins was never going to come here and that Rosen wasn't the answer. That's been validated by this move. Though, when is the last time trading for a Pats backup QB worked out?

Brisset when he beat us lol

He's looking pretty good in Indy.

Yeah, he'll sign an extension or get Franchised Tag next year.
So our head coach doesn't REALLY know QB's, he's just guessing?

Hope he guessed right this time!

Who will be block for JG?

I don't like it. It pretty much ensures we don't take one of the top quarterbacks in this year's draft because were practically giving up a first for Jimmy. It's in the last year of his contract, so no matter what we're going to be overpaying for him because he now has all the leverage. We miss out on having a cheap starting quarterback for five years by not taking a rookie with the first pick. Well I think Jimmy is good he has a very small sample size and it's not without risk. I would hate to pass on one of these top quarterbacks in this year's draft for another Matt Cassel. My only consolidation now is that we get the first overall pick and trade it for all it's worth.

None of these top quarterbacks have been super impressive. All come with considerable concerns.

Shanahan is getting a guy who is a perfect fit for his offense in every way. A better fit than anyone they could possibly draft, who already has actual NFL experience to boot.

While you are correct, JG has not shown anything with regard to quantity. He has less tape than most rookies. I said it, I do not like the move. I stand by that and will fully (and hopefully) admit to being wrong, if I am. I certainly will defer to KS et. al., but while I did not like the KC move, I like this move even less.

If Hyde is gone, then yes we will.

cant franchise JG, not worth it.
I think y'all are missing the big picture here.

The 49ers now have the prettiest quarterback in the NFC West.

Wait is there a possibility he walks this off-season?!?

No...it's called the franchise tag.

This and I doubt he's leaving a team where he's the no doubt starter, has a qb guru as hc and a team with the most cap space
