I guess they decided to go in a different direction after watching Cousins yesterday?
Anyway glad Lynch and Shanahan made the deal for Jimmy G.

Can't see Hilton getting traded, but jump all over that if you get the chance!

Dear Kirk,

I love you and hope you make parole this time...but I've met someone. Jimmy treats me right. Take care.
Sincerely,
The 49ers

No. GET HIM JOHN!
Personally I would always go with an OL if the grade justified a top5 pick.
We have so many holes on this team. We do not have the luxury of going after a RB so high. We need all the OL help we can get. I'm hoping we're still pick 1 or 2 and trade back for a load of picks to help speed up our rebuild

It's in the last year of his contract, so no matter what we're going to be overpaying for him because he now has all the leverage. We miss out on having a cheap starting quarterback for five years by not taking a rookie with the first pick. Well I think Jimmy is good he has a very small sample size and it's not without risk. I would hate to pass on one of these top quarterbacks in this year's draft for another Matt Cassel. My only consolidation now is that we get the first overall pick and trade it for all it's worth.
None of these top quarterbacks have been super impressive. All come with considerable concerns.
Shanahan is getting a guy who is a perfect fit for his offense in every way. A better fit than anyone they could possibly draft, who already has actual NFL experience to boot.
What are you people smoking? Jimmy perfect for this offense in every way? WHAT? Based on what exactly? Jimmy is as unproven as any rookie QB would be . KID9r is actually pretty spot on and practical with his analysis. We lost draft capital that could be used to bolster the rebuild. But instead we get an unproven QB who we now have to commit major money to.

Hoyer was always a stopgap at best. Stop beating up those strawmen so hard.

Give CJ a few more starts until Jimmy is up to speed and a few of our hurt OL are back healthy. Then once he's instilled into the lineup keep his dropbacks at a minimal. We need him healthy for next season after we overpay for Hopkins and a few OLinemen...LOL

49ers and Patriots began talking trade Monday morning and, by tonight, the trade was officially agreed upon. Garoppolo to San Francisco.

This now means that Kirk Cousins will have one less landing spot in free agency. There will be plenty of interest. But SF is out.

With Jimmy Garoppolo traded to SF, the Patriots now buying into the idea that Tom Brady can play well into his 40's.
Nice. I like that Lynch, Peters & Shanahan were very aggressive to get this done. We now have 2 young guys at QB to develop in this offense. We can now focus on getting on o-line & playmakers to go with them. We can pay Garoppolo a decent contract & still have a ton of money to acquire more pieces that we need this off-season
