Yup. The 4th down call was the same playcall as the one where Sanders caught a deep post in the second Rams game to get into game winning field goal range (Kyle confirmed this). So since it was the identical playcall, that meant Deebo ran the incorrect route and blew that play up. Had Deebo ran the correct route, Bourne has a window to be open and Jimmy isn't holding onto the ball to get sacked.

Which is exactly why he didnt let it go like we were all screaming for him to on the broadcast. by that time protection had collapsed or withstood as long as it could have and everything just fell apart
Good. We can finally stop the garbage takes that we absolutely have to dump Jimmy and his reasonable three-year deal for a 42-year-old Brady because of one quarter.

Thanks for shutting them up Lynch!

The fact that he had to even say anything tells where jimmy is as the weak link on the team.

I called it ego shot because Kyle called a similar bomb in the previous Superbowl. He took his shot. My only issue was that that wasn't the time for it IMHO. He's 0-2 on those.

Thanks...I was wondering why it looked so vanilla. Thanks to thl...didn't have that insight.

that still doesn't make it an "ego" play call. idk how you even can quantify it as such. Jimmy made the throw based off the defense and what they gave him. if they took Sanders away he would've gone underneath to someone like bourne and it would've achieved a 1st down potentially.thus not really giving you that impression I'm sure

Weird it tells me that we have idiots as part of this "fan" base who overreact to things and buy into exaggerated media "reports"

Sanders clears out the area for Bourne who couldn't break outside because the defender held him. But since there's a blown coverage, Jimmy sees it and targets Sanders' Post. On this play, Deebo is on the single WR side running a deep Out.

Deebo is now on the 2 WR side, hears the same playcall, runs a deep Out - wrong route, buddy. Bourne breaks outside and Deebo is standing right there to make Bourne not open.

The CALL son. The CALL there. Not JG.

Totally! I literally thought it was just 3 verts on 4th and 10. No wonder. What a total bummer.

So the question is "why didn't they line up in the same spots as in the Rams game?". Sanders just ran a deep Post on the previous play. Maybe he's tired and wasn't in a condition to run another deep Post 40 seconds later. So Deebo and Sanders switch spots. Deebo forgets that the routes also switch. Should have called timeout. Great, now everything hurts again.

That was my bad. I'll take full responsibility here.

i know what you mean by CALL. but there's still a progression. i dont understand how you can gauge something like that automatically being some sort of "ego" CALL.

Kyle called the play, Jimmy took the SHOT because it was the correct read. and he missed. that doesn't mean Kyle called the play out of ego. that's dumb.

apology accepted. don't let it happen again.
So am I a jerk for thinking we should do everything we can to trade up for Tua? Didn't think so. You guys that love Jimmy so much if you think he's a good thrower then you're delusional. He went toe to toe with Dres Brees because the saints DB falls down on a wobbly ball thrown ten yards short. Jimmy doesn't lead the receiver in stride. I'm not the only one hear that wants a better, more accurate quarterback.
