Don't worry about that. I joined this forum a couple of years ago so I'm relatively new but I've been a fan since 1955 which I suspect is much longer than most of the people on here. How long you've been a member here has nothing to do with credibility. Your posts will establish that, just like Jimmy's play in the future will establish his.

Its unreal.

Lol so much anger

I wonder whats gonna happen if he we dont make the playoffs next year and he doesnt get better? Some people already making it seem like its a guarantee that he will improve and be even better. I know another QB who was top 5 in yards, TDs, yards per attempt and all that, he lost a SB too and started sucking.

You're right theGore. The world and the 49ers are ending. Wow what a negative outlook for a fan. Umm...you are a 49er fan, right? Wow, just 3 short yrs ago we had no HC, no GM, no QB, no team, no hope, and now 36 months later we come within 7 mins and a helmet to helmet on our QB,( missed by refs), and you are giving up on the 9ers? Sheesh, with fans like you, and a handful of others, i wonder why you even post here. I mean if you feel this way, why not find a team you could really get behind? Fans see light at the end of the tunnel. All you see is an oncoming train. What a shame.

I'd be embarrassed if i had a memory as short as yours. Or maybe ungrateful is a better word. Whatever, it is just painful reading your posts. Bottom of the league, totally lost, franchise in shambles, and 3 short yrs after kyle and JL arrive on scene, we end up in the SB, and almost win it....and you don't see it. Or maybe you do see it and you are just a perpetual malcontent. Wow, just wow.

Damm no reason to get all personal. Mods cool with this? Wow, just wow.

And no, i dont think all that stuff that you wrote, stop making up things and getting personal. Just because im not 100% sold that Jimmy will be all pro doesn't mean i think we will go 0 and 16 and he will get cut

God forbid that you question the great Jimmy G on here.

I just dont think its a guarantee that he will be much improved like some people here are saying he will be. Of course he can, but questioning if his deep ball or mobility will be better, like i have before, is very understandable.

Hope your day gets better though. Sorry i upset u.

For a guy that has only been on this site for about a week, you sure seem to know a lot about the 49ers. Have you been lurking here for years, or is there some other answer?
Of course I know about the Niners it's my team man lol

...just curious. Why didn't you join the site before last week?
Why? Is it a rule you have to join at a certain time or your credibility is shot?

As I said, I was curious why a guy would come on with a lot of passion for a couple of topics that had never been a member before. It seemed odd to me.

I have to agree that there is no guarantee that Jimmy will improve, at least not drastically. We may see some minor improvement in timing since he can practice in the off season this year, but trying to project improvement is really hard. A lot of factors will determine how much he improves including how much work he puts in, how much do they improve the interior O line and if they add another good receiver. The knee may have been a minor issue during last season but let's be honest, he will never be a scrambling playmaker. That's just not his game. Most D linemen in the league are fast enough to run him down from behind.

LOL if the O Line improves and adding another good receiver improves doesn't mean Jimmy will improve. It means he already has the skills and will have better opportunities to use them if he has pass protection from the O Line and another receiving weapon with good hands to catch the ball.

IMO Jimmy doesn't have to do much to improve to elite level. Having his knee heal up more over the off season will see him get back to his pre injury mobility which will be awesome. What more can people honestly want.

There are no guarantees, however, it is a fact that most players do improve their weaknesses after they have had a full year of game play. To say that one is more likely to fall on one side than the other is to employ a crystal ball that you deny to others.

I would suggest that history tells us it is more likely JG improves than stands still.

Gore may feel like I do that you can't look at Jimmy the same way you do a rookie coming off his first full year. He's been in the league for awhile now and they learn a lot in off season workouts and watching film. I know it's not the same as game action but he definitely should be far ahead of a true rookie who is seeing NFL speed for the first time. For that reason I don't see him making the big jump you would expect from a rookie. He has less to learn. It's more a matter of fine tuning some things and trying to make the jump into the upper tier. (top 5-8)
Terrific.

I've been spoiled by Montana and Young. Jimmy G isn't even the poor man's Montana he's poorer than that lol
I've always been more critical of the quarterback position and passing game.

Basically the reason his throws are off target is his lack of a spiral on the football, Spirals are arrow dynamic and wounded ducks create drag on the ball through the air. We need tight spirals and completions in stride. You could see the frustration Kyle had in Jimmy in the fourth quarter lmao if looks could kill

Dj, its just not as easy as that. Hes been in the league now for 6 years, this isnt a rookie or 2nd year player. History tells us that most players don't improve after 4 years, they are who they are. Of course thats not always the case, like with Warner. But thats rare.
