There are no guarantees, however, it is a fact that most players do improve their weaknesses after they have had a full year of game play. To say that one is more likely to fall on one side than the other is to employ a crystal ball that you deny to others.

I would suggest that history tells us it is more likely JG improves than stands still.

Dj, its just not as easy as that. Hes been in the league now for 6 years, this isnt a rookie or 2nd year player. History tells us that most players don't improve after 4 years, they are who they are. Of course thats not always the case, like with Warner. But thats rare.
Exactly. And Jimmy is no Warner even on his best day and Warner's worst. We got a great ball club we just lack a hybrid quarterback. We need a double threat hybrid calling the shots

Can't argue any of these facts. It sucks and I'm not saying he has, but it wouldn't surprise me if we've seen Jimmy peak. Hoping like hell he comes out guns blazing, but if he doesn't I won't be surprised.

Playing experience is so different than film and preparation experience, which is where most of Jimmy's NFL experience lies at the moment. I can most likely tell you where a QB should throw the ball while watching film (bird's eye view) but I sure as hell can't do it from behind a live pocket. Jimmy has room to grow in the playing experience category. Once he goes up against a DC multiple times and experiences first hand how they play him, he can use that to improve. Things are just different inside a live pocket that all the film watching in the world cannot simulate.

100%

Plus WCO...literally, year 1 of 3 before he really fully masters every aspect of it and him and Kyle share the same brain through marriage.
... the guy went 6 or 7 and 0 when he was first traded here, and everyone called him the savior..

.. the guy was out last year and some called him a softy bust..

... the guy lead us to the Super Bowl in his first full season, with not much experience, and everyone's b***hin already ??

Can we give him 2 more years before giving him his FINAL GRADE??

, come on Moon, that's a stretch. Yes he played great at times, but one could argue that the team made it to the super bowl despite Jimmy. Let's not forget how the defense carried the team at times.
I won't even bring up the Minn and GB playoff games, those games were won by the defense and running game, then Jimmy.

I agree it's not time for his final grade, but the dude better show up and be twice as good or better when Aug rolls around.
It took 100+ games starting over 2001-2006 for Brady to become big stats Brady. Had solid numbers equal to Jimmy's 2019 in most those early seasons, and team won with defense and clutch Brady play in playoffs. No reason to think it's impossible for Jimmy G to improve similarly, especially while he has a defense to assist him.

I like how we go 15 years with trash QB's, we FINALLY find a guy who has a chance to be really good, he takes us to the SB in his first full year coming off an ACL tear, is top 5 in TD passes, completion %, and Yards Per Attempt, and because he didn't finish in the 4th quarter of the SB, there are Niner fans who are dedicating time to saying he sucks, hes a waste of money, hes a choker, he'll never win a SB, etc. Pretty much 100% of which are people who have never accomplished anything in life, and know almost nothing about football. Its unreal.

Cry me a river because people may have a different opinion than yours....

Does your opinion count anymore? You told us all how much the Bosa picked sucked...
My mind is blown by some of these posts.

No chit there is no guarantee Jimmy doesn't improve next year. Just like there's no guarantee Patrick Mahomes improves next year.

However if you just use a little logic it will point that a guy who is able to actually spend time working on his game instead of rehabbing from a serious knee injury SHOULD improve.

I just don't get how you can see everything we've seen from Jimmy on this team, use logic and still see a guy who isn't going to improve.

Yes it's possible but I'm not putting money on it.

I won't even bring up the Saints and GB regular seson games which were won by Jimmy's passing game and clutch throws.

I agree it's not time for his final grade, but the dude has already show(n) up and even if he is as half as good next season we will make the play offs.

Right?

To me that 2017 run showed me the kid can play and win regardless of talent around him. 1-10 without him 5-0 with him. That's with a healthy Jimmy just getting things done for the most part.

The one offseason he had to work with the WRs injuries quickly turned things to disaster which probably soured some people on him with how 2018 started.

I'm confident Jimmy will step it up. If we stay healthy we're gonna win games. Just have to keep the magic going.

Ah look genus49 too many posters are can only see negatives. It is like they have been sucking lemons all of their life and they are bitter and salty like battery acid.

Even if we won the Super Bowl the same posters would be whinging about Jimmy and saying stuff like he didn't make enough touch down passes, or made an intercept or was picking his nose too much or anything else they could complain about.

The level of complaining goes well beyond anything constructive that a reasonable and rational poster might say and these guys just take it too another level. I wonder what they have done with their lives? Did they ever make team in high school or college or anything? In any sport? Did they ever coach a team? Did they ever even play a sport?

The negativity demonstrates that they are either jealous because they could never do anything without being rejected or they are a troll who support another team. But they are not proper 49ers fans. You cannot convince me of that.

Some people seem to definitely get off on the negativity. It's like them saying someone will suck and then being proven right is more important to them than the team having success. Super weird.

Only if jimmy was a little more mobile he could run for some first downs when nobody is open

He needs to chuck that knee brace so he's a little more nimble.
