That's one more season of NFL experience then any of the rookies.

I'd rather use a second and take a chance on Jimmy then waste a 1st on a rookie.

That assumes that was going to happen.

But in addition, so many here saying he is a FQB. But, he wasn't a FQB in NE? BB et. al. did not see him that way so I am curious why so many are sure he is a FQB when one of the best coaches in NFL history clearly did not see him in that light.

One side effect is thst this helps in free agency. OL will want to come block for this guy in this system. Definitely better perception than having a major ? on who the QB will be going into the 2018 season.

I like jimmy g but the dude couldn't stay healthy with brady's line in front of him. He's going to get killed.

He got dropped into the ground by a large man....OL play had nothing to do with it. Same injury happened to Alex Smith back in the day. He's been pretty healthy ever since.
Thank you for not breaking the bank on Cousins, I was not a fan for that move. Agree with others this could be Cassell 2.0 but almost every QB you pick is a calculated risk so at least the front office is firing off shots. Imo, Lynch has done more good for the team in 8-9 months than Baalke did his entire tenure.
We might hit 1-15 this year. I hope he isn't a bust.

You know what this means... SAQUAN BARKELY HERE WE COME !!!!!
Shanahan and Harbaugh both loved Jimmy.
Well now things get interesting. Watch the Pats sign Hoyer to be their #2.

What are you people smoking? Jimmy perfect for this offense in every way? WHAT? Based on what exactly? Jimmy is as unproven as any rookie QB would be . KID9r is actually pretty spot on and practical with his analysis. We lost draft capital that could be used to bolster the rebuild. But instead we get an unproven QB who we now have to commit major money to.

Meaning there won't be a learning curve that most rookies would have. He's played well as a pro and from what we can see he's been in a great system sorta similar to what Shanahan would like to run. The rookie QB's coming out all have question marks and who's to say Darnold is even coming out. If he continues to play like he's played his stock will drop. I'll take my chance on a 25 yr old vet over a rookie any day of the week unless that rookie was named Andrew Luck coming out of college.
Tom Brady backups have never had success anywhere else. Plus, he is a FA, so we are going to have to throw a big deal at a guy who hasn't played but like 3 games....who we could have just tried to get in FA anyway. I don't know about this.

We still have 2 pay Jimmy top dollar lol

Sign him this off season and save a HIGH 2nd round pick

That's not guaranteed. He could sing with another team, even for less money. Arizona would be a better place to go than here, for example.
