Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, Los Angeles Rams

How can anyone question this move? Using a 2nd round pick on a potential franchise QB is worth the risk all day every day. Even if it's a high 2nd.

I could give a crap about this year, tank for Saquon...fix this OL...and lets GO GET IT next year!

This. I don't want to see him behind center until Brown AND Staley are back!

Hell no. Play him after the bye to give him a few games to get acclimated.
Maybe jimmy knows when to get rid of the ball like Brady does and won't get molested

One could only wish Jimmy G gives half of Young did and it would still be a win..

Doubt we made this trade without already being in talks with his agent

You bet,otherwise it makes no sense,that`s a high draft pick 2nd round...YEAH!

All his agent would say is "sure we will". At best it is a verbal contract. If JG lights it up, the 49ers will pay out the ass. It's simply logical. JG has all the leverage in this situation. ALL OF IT
we still have a lot of cash to load everything up front and wont hurt us later

Exactly. It's a 2nd rounder but it's worth the risk.

Better than drafting a college QB with no NFL experience with the top 3 pick in the draft.

Based on what? Because no QBs found in the draft turn out to be successful? Your statement makes no sense. It also assumes that's where the 49ers would have drafted a QB. If the college QBs are as bad as they look, all of those guys may drop, significantly.

I agree with this.

So we'll just wait 2 years until we have a good o line lol

Don't understand why people keep saying this. $50 million up front counts the same against our cap 3 years from now as $50 million spread over those 3 years because the NFL allows you to roll over your cap space. If we give a QB a huge deal and he busts, it will significantly impact our cap space whether the money is up front or spread out over the life of the deal.

I'll be happy if we sign Garapollo for between $18-20 million/year. He has all the leverage as an unrestricted free agent and if he plays well over the remaining 8 games of this season, he could get paid a lot more than that.
2nd rounder is too bad. At least we didn't give a ton like the Seacawks did for Brown

He had that behind Brady.
Time to start looking at receivers as well. We have money and draft picks.

Quality receivers.. Options are good..
