And he's only 25.
I know we will always have a few people complaining, no matter if we draft Rosen, sign Kirk Cousins, or roll with Beathard for another season, but Garoppolo is way more gifted than previous Patriot backups because he started with much more to work with. They did draft him pretty high because he was supposed to replace Brady, but Tom just doesn't want to decline like most QB's before him, so the Pats were stuck with either trading the GOAT or moving Jimmy because they literally couldn't afford to wait much longer.

Garoppolo was also never going to make it to free agency. If we didn't pull off this trade, someone else would have by Tuesday's deadline, and something tells me Arizona was probably on Bill's other line.

Better than drafting a college QB with no NFL experience with the top 3 pick in the draft.

Based on what? Because no QBs found in the draft turn out to be successful? Your statement makes no sense. It also assumes that's where the 49ers would have drafted a QB. If the college QBs are as bad as they look, all of those guys may drop, significantly.

Lol QBs Don't drop. Do you even follow the draft? Watson was supppsed to drop to 2nd round.

And even if we waited till 2nd round to draft a QB - we end up with a bad college QB.

IMO we have better chance with a QB who has already played well in the NFL.

Not sure how that's difficult to understand.

Fair point this year, but that's only because there is basically one person, and one person only, worthy of a top 3 pick.

You have no idea whether a QB taken in the 2nd will turn out bad. FFS JG was taken in the second round lol.

And further, Watson never looked as bad as these guys have the last few weeks. I mean, it's hard to watch.

Don't like it. I seem to be in the minority though.

Hope it works out, just having a hard time being overly optimistic about a guy with 2 career starts.

Hell yea but Jimmy G might win us a few games and Cle might snag him up.

The Browns will draft a QB. They can't pass up another first round QB.

Browns can do anything. But, this gives up so much flexibility. We can trade down for some QB desperate team who is willing to mortgage their immediate future or we draft THE PLAYMAKER from this draft.

It was all a dream

I used to read Word Up magazine
Friend of mine, big Pats fan told me he will be our QB for the next 10 years. He's sad to see him go .

ah f**k it he's too old
I think B.B. was worried that the Brows would get JImmy G in the off-season as a free agent so did this to stop that from happening.

I wonder what number he will wear.
I guarantee that he pays Kendrick Bourne for #10.
