Almost seemed the perfect QB in 2017.

But something has been wrong with him for a while now.. many have been in denial about it. Consistent arm strength or mechanics or what ever, it doesn't seem like it can be fixed.

That being said I can't see Kyle letting him go... especially if there is no backup plan that makes Kyle comfortable.

So predictions out of my ass..

Kyle trades for Cousins or Ryan next year

Kyle objects to getting rid of Jimmy and wants to be with him no matter what.. waiting and wanting to be there when Jimmy comes out of his coma... so much so, will ask for his release to join Jimmy in New England to replace Belichick

Hard to be a gunslinger when your ankle is jacked. Just the difference in movement between Mullens and Garoppolo was like night and day. He's not right physically and he needs to sit until he is. Shanahan's put work into trying to gameplan around the injury but it got exposed today.

Yeah, but Garoppolo isn't a gunslinger even healthy lol. This isn't 2017.

Don't think we see him again until after the bye week. Maybe he can beat the Rams, who knows

But you're not drafting a faceless QB. You need someone that is THE QB. Otherwise you talk yourself into drafting a mediocre prospect just because you need one. Doing that you wind up with a Paxton Lynch, a Josh Rosen, a Dwayne Haskins, a Teddy Bridgewater or an EJ Manuel. QB's are not a commodity.

Trade up a little. Snatch Fields

He played well enough last year for this team to make it all the way to a SB. I want to see him sit for a few weeks, get healthy and then see what he can do the last four or five games of the season with a hopefully healthier offense overall.

bingo
His Ankle is shot. He can't plant at all. 90% of his throws are 5 yard passes or less. Even in Kyle's system the past couple of years it was never this out of hand with the screen passes. You would still see him thrown down field. Not 25+ yard passes but still some 15+ yard passes but we don't even see much of that. And when he does it's ugly throws.

There's absolutely zero guarantee that a QB will be available for tradeup, especially when you look at all the teams with worse records than the 49ers that potentially need one, including the Jets(0-8), Jaguars(1-6), Patriots(2-5), Vikings(2-5) and Cowboys(2-5). Its likely that all those teams will be better positioned to draft one or move up for one.

Yup. See where he is for the Rams game. Month of rest on it.

I'll take Matt Ryan on a restructured vet deal for 2021, provided they also draft a QB that is meant to be the future. Knows the offense, and Ryan's age means he won't expect to be a 10-year starter and will accept a rookie QB being in the wings.

Why aim so low. I am sure if they offer 5 first round picks Patrick Mahomes could be had.

We could offer the next 20 years of 1st round picks for Mahomes amd KC would reject that deal.

He looked pretty bad even before the ankle injury. Week 1 he was pretty bad.

Just have the balls to draft THE QB even when you think others won't draft him that high. No passing on Mahomes type talents.

QBs always get pushed up. I'll say no and win that bet.

Mahomes and Watson literally went at #10 and #12.

This is a QB strong draft.

A QB will be there between 8-18.
