I hope you guys are right, but I don't see it. They can rest this guy until Week 12 for all I care. I am tired of the excuses. Just purely from a cap stand point, I don't get what he brings to the table.

Jimmy was a quarter away from being a Superbowl Champion and the most likely Super Bowl MVP... But sure he doesn't give you a chance at this point.

He has fallen apart after our running game and defense became average. And he couldn't pass on a bad defense today. That's just the facts. Now whether or not he has a bum ankle or whatever excuses they can drum up with, that's another story. But as far as I'm concerned, they did say that he looked okay in practice this past week

How do you explain 2017 when he went 5-0 with an average defense and running game?

Lack of film on his tendencies would be my guess. I guess it was fools gold.

Too bad.

You don't need to guess. That is precisely what it was. This happens to QBs a lot.

His arm is well above average and his height means nothing at his point considering how many smaller QB's have been able to have success.

He could have taken that shot, but full context: there's a Safety right off screen.

Watched the game last night and I'm sold! He is pretty accurate on the 50/50 ball also.

Trey Lance??? I can't see 4 QBS going in the top 5. That rarely happens. It will probably be Lawrence first pick, Fields 2nd pick, Lance 5-6th pick, then Wilson 10-15 range... Maybe we trade up to get Wilson.

Wilson isn't going to last beyond the 5th pick if he continues playing the way he has, especially considering his physical tools. He's like a more mobile version of Kirk Cousins.

Lance might fall but Lance is also incredibly raw and has only a single year of starting experience in college. The last guy who fit that description and wound up drafted early was Mitch Trubisky. Lance isn't someone that you throw out here immediately and have him run your offense, he'd ideally need 1 to 2 years to get up to speed. Not sure that is what Shanahan is looking for.

They said Herbert was raw too didn't they? I know the Chargers have a losing record, but they have a pretty bright future with him.

The problem is, so will a bunch of other teams that will be picking ahead of the 49ers. Lots of bad teams that will be looking for QBs next draft.

Like above 50% completion percentage on the 50/50 ball?

Yep, and where did he get drafted despite being raw?

Mahomes and Watson literally went at #10 and #12.

This is a QB strong draft.

A QB will be there between 8-18.

A QB will be there. And when all you're looking for is "a QB", that is how you draft a pretty terrible one.

Mahomes and Watson were both exceptions, because of the success they've had, teams are now willing to take a chance on virtually anyone so you're seeing guys like Daniel Jones and even Dwayne Haskins going far earlier than they may have in prior years.

What would be the point in drafting a new QB before we fix the Oline up? Again today it was letting people threw and both Jimmy and Nick were getting smashed. No QB is going to last long before getting broke with out Oline. Jimmy should have been out for at least 6-8 weeks to heal properly but Kyle took the risk and now Jimmy is going to be out when we need him most. Our Oline is a QB destroyer.
