How do you know it wasn't? The last couple of weeks the gameplans were pretty much setup around him moving as little as possible and throwing short, quick passes. Having an ankle issue is frustrating because you can feel fine for a few days and then re aggravate it getting out of bed wrong in the morning and suddenly you're in excruciating pain while walking around.

He doesn't look right, he's not moving right, they need to simply sit him and keep sitting him until he is 100%,

Doesn't make sense - he looked horrible, then you say he was fine majority of the time. Which one is it?

Fine as in health wise Bud

Oh, ok.
Tired of the injury excuse, he gets no pass, he played like shiet. Cant even stay healthy.

I'm not sure I buy that it's completely the ankle. I'd like to see one of our awesome film guys break down his footwork and mechanics. Even the announcers we're talking about him not planting properly and taking off throwing angles.

I think he's in his own head and had a case of the yips.
Once the D was no longer playing at a legendary level and the run game began to falter Kap couldn't carry the team, even though his paycheck said otherwise. I gave Kap s**t for being paid at a level that would would create "financial decisions" but not taking the next step and elevating the team. Right now Jimmy is creeping into the same territory. Stupid decisions, bad mechanics, and shying away from contact are beginning to become more routine. We are paying a lot of money to a 30 year old QB still learning. Something has to give or Kyle and Lynch need to make some hard decisions about his future.

Isn't moving him around as little as possible and throwing short, quick passes the game plan for Jimmy every week??

So, is everybody back to hating Jimmy?

Don't hate him, just don't think he's the QB we need to get over the hump.

Don't know what the answer is, but I don't think Jimmy is it.

He was less than a year ago. What has changed other then he has an ankle injury that hasn't healed yet.

I wasn't sold on Jimmy. He always gave me an uneasy feeling like floating in the ocean when you know there's a shark underneath you. It might be fine or it could turn bad at any moment.

Coming into this season I wanted to see Jimmy taking the next steps forward in his development. I wanted to feel comfortable and confident that this was the guy. Haven't seen it. Haven't felt it.

The limitations he showed pre any injury are still there, the mistakes and accuracy issues still there.

The ankle injury has badly exaggerated things. He's not as bad as it is making him look, but at the same time I don't see him moving forward as a player. The mental mistakes especially are getting worse.

I simply no longer believe he can be the guy.
Dude sucks lol I wish I was wrong but he proved he cannot handle the pressure when he doesn't have an elite defense and running game

Its like going 5-0 in 2017 never happened.

It's almost 2021.

Just seems like he's afraid and hesitant to let it fly, and it hurts him, he gets so giddy in the pocket when his 1st read isn't there.

I think Jimmy is done. Nerve is lost, doesn't trust his body, mechanics have broken down. I know we don't have amazing pass pro but he doesn't have the nerve to hang in there at all. It's a shame he had all the tools and he is a cool guy but he just isn't durable and isn't mentally strong.

Something is definitely not the same. Jimmy looked really promising in 2017. Then he gets hurt and misses a season. Comes back and we got to the SB. Now he's hurt again. Even when healthy he isn't showing a lot of what I see from other QBs. Herbert and Burrow are rookies and show more than Jimmy does. Now with the injuries it makes things even worse. You can't get better when you can't play on a regular basis. He can't create any chemistry with the receivers when he's in and out of the lineup. This ankle looks like it's going to be an issue for much of the rest of the season.

He looked promising because the 49ers were starving and he was coming from NE so it had to he great. Beady's heir apparent, my arse. He never looked promising to me. He showed flashes of being competent, really limited flashes. But mostly he played horrible. We win that Superbowl last year with a good QB, not elite, GOOD.
He was healthy and sucking. He got hurt after he sucked.
