Agreed. He's nervous in the pocket and not seeing the game mentally at all IMO.

Not stepping into his throws and throwing off his back foot is part of the problem. He needs a QB coach to straighten him up.

Garoppolo is too skittish in the pocket, and too slow to maneuver around and get outside of the pocket. He also makes a lot of poor decisions. He has his moments where he can be accurate at intermediate ranges and throws a very pretty spiral. But I don't think he's the guy anymore. Feel like I've seen a large enough sampling. I tend to agree with what SacNiner said, that the real asset is Kyle Shanahan, and we should feel blessed for that. Just as he can make undrafted running backs look good, I think he can make a lot of mediocre QBs look good. We might want to cast our line for another QB in the upcoming draft. Seems like the savings on Jimmy's contract would be worth it to extend players like Bosa and Warner while developing another QB.

Good post, BS - I totally agree.

+1

Jeff Garcia and Hitner on Post Game Live sealed the deal for me on our future of the QB position. He is not the answer. Defenses are not afraid of him because Jimmy G is too scared to throw the ball down the field. Garcia went on to give examples pre-snap reads that were obvious deep shot coverages.

I'll cheer for him as long as he's wearing red and gold but he's proven that he's not the answer. Too bad he can't read defenses as well as Mullens. I'm also tired of him not stepping into throws. I can't stand when he throws and immediately covers down for the hit. Our O-Line can obviously improve their pass pro but I think Jimmy G makes them look worse than they are. Mullens proved that today.

I would argue his ankle, but yeah. He's been s**tty. It's the only way to say it. Kyle needs to offload some work so he can fix this s**t.

Two years of some deep ass WR talent and we get neither the biggest or fastest guys or best guys.

We got RB/WRs.

I'm not so thrilled about Kyle's ability to evaluate the skill positions.

Honestly, the blocking was horrible.
Wonder if tua would be a target reclamation project if Miami goes for Lawrence or another qb

No. Wait what why would the Jets trade the first pick to the Dolphins?

Miami are nuts then. Them and the Jets, no wonder the Pats dominated that division so long.

Right. Miami in thick of playoff hunt in AFC East. But they will have 2 first round picks.
