I had that dude going to the Hall of Fame...no joke.

Yeah, we all did.

I've never seen somebody play so well, only to regress so dramatically. I didn't think it was possible.

i mean it is definitely fair to blame someone's regression on injuries. whether it be from a mental standpoint or physical, the ACL, then to come off that, then have his high ankle. we'll never know if any of that over time affected his mentality in any way. but that's just the most obvious thing I look at when I start to think about why or how he has regressed over time.

How quick people change their tone. Its hilarious. Jimmy was pressured more yesterday than any time in his entire career playing on a bum ankle.

Fans love to praise a guy when he does well, but are always first in line to kick a guy when he is down.

The fact that ANYBODY takes what is happening this season seriously is hilarious. That doesn't apply to Jimmy, or the 49ers, or the NFL, but sports in general.

Jimmy had a running game last year - he's lacking it this year with all the RBs being hurt.

Next Jake Browning

They're not even remotely comparable beyond being smaller white QB's that came from the NW. Wilson has an arm that is pretty damn good to go along with outstanding deep passing accuracy. Browning had a noodle.

One of the biggest improvements in Wilson's game is his deep touch abilities. After shoulder and thumb injuries as a sophomore, his overall arm strength was negatively affected. In my original assessment, I thought Wilson had a very average arm and lacked a lot of pop, specifically on downfield throws. Many of his attempts hung in the air too long and the bottom often fell out of it, which left passes falling short frequently. Now Wilson's healthy, and there's more urgency and life behind his throws, especially on those deep balls. Not only does his arm look more lively, but Wilson displays more confidence as well.

Yup, here's TDN breakdown of Browning, not even close outside of being white and similar in size.

Jake Browning comes up short in several key qualities, severely limiting his potential pro prospects. Browning lacks juice on the ball, so even though he's making sound decisions with the football, he lacks the physical ability to deliver it in a timely manner. Browning projects as a fringe roster player and lacks sorely in the physical skills to offer any notable upside. Browning should be regarded as a camp body/UDFA target and at best be considered for a back-up role.

I value the opinions of guys on here like Jonnydel and thl408 among others. They really know how football works. You do not. Your opinion on football has zero value to me. It is clear you look at football in a very one dimensional way and thrive on negativity. Your negativity blinds you and you fail to see the bigger picture. Most people on here know that.

So next time you want to have a dig at me remember I laugh at guys like you who think you know it all. You don't and your view of me and of football just means nothing. It would be better for you if you just ignore my posts. You can hit the ignore button and do me a big favour.

Let it out bro. Nice job

I kind of agree at times you do tend to lean on the negative/pessimistic side, but at the same time you feel as strongly as you do for a reason and have a right to feel as strongly as you do at this point.
I think at this point there probably should be two Jimmy Garoppolo threads so we can divide the morons and the educated.
Jimmy just didn't looked right out there man, he's way better than what he showed yesterday. No excuses though, he played poorly, very disappointed in my Jimmy. On the other note, Mullens did well and should've been the gameplan from the get go, come out slinging against their weak pass defense and no pass rush.

Yeah unfortunately Jimmy is now a LEMON and I'm sure the 9ers want their money back. Get your Lemon law Attorney's for Jimmy, Dee and Pettis.

excuses.

He got blitzed on a ton...any good QB kills teams when getting blitzed. He's got to read the defense pre-snap, understand where pressure is coming from and adjust protections. He got a freaking RB,FB and TE on the field more than any QB in football. USE THEM for protection. He should have sliced up this defense.

There were plays were he had no pressure and still f**ked up. That INT in the RZ being one...again missing the open receiver in Bourne instead trying to force it to Kittle. His ankle looked freaking fine until he "reinjured it" everyone is dealing with injuries at this point in the season. even QBs. You got teams all over the league that don't have ELITE OLs and are still doing more than he is.

He's got the rest of the season, but they need to seriously think about Jimmy and him as the starter past this yr IMO. They shouldn't roll into 2021 with Jimmy and Mullens as the QBs IMO.

Jimmy G came in directly from NE in 2017 and basically winged it. He didn't know the offense that well and he was unfazed and fearless. I don't know what happened, but maybe he was inspired and better prepared in NE than here but he know looks lost out there. Blitzes spook him and he can't call the pass protections with any proficiency. Maybe, this offense is not for him. Kyle dumbs down the passing game for Jimmy and it was never more clearer than on yesterday. Seattle is not good on defense and EVERY team they played this season other than SF totally shredded them, except Jimmy G. We all know Nick is not starter material, but he made mince meat out of Seattle's defense. If he is capable of reading blitzes and calling protections, why can't Jimmy? It seems like something basic a starting QB should be able to do. I think Jimmy has played his way out of SF after yesterdays game. Where they go from here, I don't know but Jimmy holds the offense back man, lots of gadget running plays and stuff, not gonna cut it this year!

let's also give SOME credit to Seattle too. do we really think they had no idea how bad their stats were or the rep they had on their defense? they came in with a good gameplan and played inspired football. so kudos to them.

nevertheless, it shouldn't have been anything Jimmy was incapable of making them pay for. he has the gunslinger mentality (or did?) and the fast release to do it. idc if he didn't have a Sanders, and idc if Shanahan didn't have a Deebo. both Jimmy and Kyle dropped the ball on this one. sucks he re-aggravated his ankle, as that was always going to be a possibility of returning. they did key in on the drive he had from his backfoot early in the game. either way he was good enough to start today and apparently had a good week throwing the ball. so, it's just silly now to try and continue to play him and evaluate him still. as if Covid wasn't enough to have to deal with this year. f**king season sucks so hard.
I was a jimmy fan and apologist. Yesterday was inexcusable. I've seen enough. Time to move on. I'm done. Sorry.
To the outside world I'm quick to defend Jimmy G along with any and all 49ers but between these webzone walls man I must say its becoming very hard to view Jimmy as anything but a mediocre QB. What does he do exceptionally well? He has a fairly quick release and is usually accurate on short throws to the middle of the field BUT he is not a deep ball threat, not good at passes outside the numbers, not mobile, turnover prone, does not have the strongest arm and appears to be a product of the scheme AND lastly injuries are affecting him. He is the type of QB that feels replaceable to be frank. Does he suck? No! but I gotta believe that Shanny and Lynch most likely feel they could upgrade that position which is probably why they flirted with Brady.

Question for you all - would the 49ers be a better team as is with Jimmy G next year or with Mullens and using Jimmy's salary to get a starting Center, Guard and another pass rusher or corner? Could probably add 3 new quality starters with what Jimmy is making to be mediocre. It doesnt take a $27 million dollar QB to throw screens, ins/slants and handoff to Deebo on reverses.

well that was quick
You can't blame the ankle anymore. It's an excuse. His ankle was fine for three quarters. Seahawks defense sucks and were missing key players on top of that. The interception was inexcusable and he had all the time in the world. He should have shredded them. Granted, the only weapons he really had was kittle and aiyuk, he still should have been better.

Same... I went to bat for him the past 2 weeks. I argued against that passive aggressive twitter dude here nitpicking some pretty petty things but it's just becoming too constant. Sure he's capable of playing well but time and time again he has made some amazingly terrible boneheaded throws and missed basic reads. In the past we've been able to overcome them but things like missing a basic basic slant route and throwing it directly to a defender changes the the complexion of the game. It gave Seattle every spark they needed while we squandered ours

I don't hate the guy nor wish any negativity on him personally but football wise he's just not getting it done.
