We were told we were being bad fans because it worked, and we had no right to look at the future and hypothesize what could happen if we kept this style of offense up.

Well, Seattle blitzed a lot and took away the short stuff. And what happened? Jimmy had the worst outing out of any QB playing Seattle this season. He played exponentially worse than QBs who WZ says are far inferior QBs to Jimmy.

Its time for even the homers to call a spade a spade.
This falls on Kyle, he thought we could play straight up, and we couldn't.

While it's debatable whether Jimmy at full strength is the best we can do, this clearly isn't the real Jimmy. He was out there because he was the best option we had when healthy -- but that's the problem. He's not. Play to play, game to game, the inconsistency is maddening. The more weapons we lose, the more we have no chance to scheme around his injury-driven restrictions. That negative paired with his other flaws or limitations are an absolute recipe for disaster.

Mullens delivered some deep dimes yesterday which made my eyes bug out a little. He beat the blitz more often. These are things Jimmy can do when healthy, but even then, it's not consistent. The fact that -- even at his best -- Jimmy isn't that much better than Mullens at his best (at least in some areas), that really shows we've got a major problem.

I don't know how bad Jimmy has to be for us to move on. I just hope whatever happens, we don't look back thinking "what if" while being stuck with mid-tier player who may not ever surpass that level.

Great post. Best one in the thread since yesterday's debacle

I think I just found the worst and dumbest one, lol. (Kyle needing to go too)

Lol, he probably wants Tomsula back

he has to be trolling.

Giving it too much attention is trolling as well. Let's give the more realistic stuff more attention,...like restructures, understudies, trades, et. al.

this is why I never criticize posters on here for their opinion, good or bad.

LOL
Jeff Garcia said after the game yesterday that Mullens is the best QB on the team in terms of presnap adjustments/reads, blitz identification and field reading post snap. He just has far more physical limitations than Jimmy has.

I agree.

This year might've kinda been a wash anyway with the injuries,...but of course, not having a feasible player @ the QB position falls on Shanahan and Lynch. Kinda goes without saying given our last playoff run,...but they will both be back next year, and deservedly so, so it's kind of a moot point.

So did we run it back?!?
I assume that Kyle has a pretty good relationship with Jimmy. He needs to ask him to be honest and tell him if that ankle is okay or not. If not shut him down for however long it takes.

I think more people are starting to see that maybe what we see is what Jimmy is. Every week I see posters saying this is the week that jimmy's going to have a big game. Then every Monday we are all making excuses or wondering whether it's time to make a switch. One thing is clear. He is not and never will be an elite, franchise QB. He isn't making players around him look better. If anything, Kittle and Deebo make him look better with all the yards they get after those short passes.

I thought the Seahawks were done when the legion of boom broke up. Wilson kept them competitive. Then they lost Lynch who was the heart and soul of the running game. Wilson kept them competitive. They lost all their pass rushers. Wilson kept them winning. This year they are without nearly all their RBs and still Wilson keeps them winning. It's not just his physical skills. You see him on the sideline going up and down lifting up the players. Then he goes out and makes great plays to back up his rah-rah stuff. I hate don't like him but he's a true leader. A real elite QB. I wish we could find one like that.

See I don't feel like you should have to apologize. Someone above said there should be two threads for Jimmy to separate the educated and the morons. I'm curious which one am I because I too have seen enough. I've been a fan of this team for a long time. I've seen every one of their Super Bowls. I don't feel like I have to apologize for what I have learned in my 4+ decades of being a fan. This is a business. We have a damn good team when we get healthy. We have a damn good coach. We have a liability at the single most important position in the sport.

Yes it sucks bc he is impossible not to like. But I like the other 52 guys too (well most of them - not you Pettis you piece of cat poo), and I like winning more than anything. I'm not apologizing for that and nor should you. Be sad. I am. But I'm also a realist.
