It's time to appreciate the player you have, and give up that infatuation for the darling QB replacement who suits you.

If johnnydel's theory above is true then yes I imagine it is.
Let's package Jimmy for Watson

Watson sure does throw a beautiful deep ball.

WOULD not matter, Shanny won't call for deep balls..

Ya we can, but cap wont be pretty. Either way, Jimmy can be cut for a very small hit after the 2021 season.

Lol yes. The last thing our HC wants is big plays down the field.

except this is the first time Shanahan has been able to build his own offense from the ground up. he was the OC on other teams. he called plays and used the players available to him to fit his offense. he never had personnel say or decision-making or choice. that's the difference. and all the players Kyle has now are based off his decision, needs, and wants for his system. so that's why I agree with Thanos.

And why kyle had a hard on for Kirk (who has collected a ton of air yards and is known as a quality deep ball thrower) and drafted CJ who's really only good attribute is the deep ball...Kyle loves explosives plays, he's stated many times. It's a reason he brought in Goodwin. Aiyuk is without question a downfield threat too.

If you don't think Kyle likes to go vertical then you're only fooling yourself.

never said that he didn't like them. just you with your tunnel vision-posting, literal-based assumptions as usual. he takes strategic shots that his horizontal-stretch passing offense/running scheme set up later on

1st man out of bounds wins

My 78 year old father said this to me today:

"Watching Alex Smith throw the ball makes me truly realize how terrible Jimmy's arm is. Alex's throws look like lasers by comparison."

Alex Smith throws. That is the measuring stick at this point. SMFH.

The problem with Jimmy is he can't make all the throws.

Unless we have a decidedly better option at QB on the roster at the time, Jimmy isnt going anywhere.

We will likely restructure Jimmy to backload the rest of his deal so he gets 2021 to be a tiebreaker between 2019 and 2020.

I know we were hard on Alex....and I know he failed here for the most part,....but dude ascended late to #1 Overall for a reason.

It was the wrong pick, sure, but Jimmy could only dream of having his talent.
