Facts.
Sherman was right in saying that not many teams at all are losing players like we are and some all pro and pro bowl players don't even get injured. This is such a lucky year for so many teams and the unluckiest year in the history of the NFL for our team. It sucks so bad because I thought we were going to go to the Super Bowl easily.

Next year when we get our pass rush back we will be if not the best team in the NFL at the very least a top 3 team

did you mean to post this somewhere else besides the Jimmy G thread?

He's actually 5th. Kap gained over 4k yds in 2014

Nope Jimmy is 4th. Kap only had 3339 yards passing in 14. I know you went with passing + rushing but you left out Jimmy's 62 yards rushing giving Jimmy the slight edge.

Wonder if jimmy practices at all this week. It's been 4 weeks since his injury and timeline was supposed to be 4-6 weeks. If he is somehow healthy for the bills we have a shot going forward. D is playing so well and O is starting to get healthy but Mullins is holding them back so much he's terrible. Jimmy say what you will turns this team into a team no playoff team wants to see

Jimmy with a sore ankle is not better than mullens, and he's a lot less mobile.

If we put jimmy behind this line any time soon we'll only get a quarter and a half from him.

I agree on your last point but totally disagree with your first one. Jimmy G on one leg is better than Mullins and it's not close

Ah for some reason I had Kap at 4108 instead of 4008. Still dangerously close to Kaps "garbage" 2014. And it wouldn't matter if Kap had 0 passing yds and 4k rushing yds in 2014. All yards count the same.

Disagree because Kap's runs counts as running plays. He's taking carries at the expense of the back. That's the nature of an option call.

If we had a higher ranking than 20th you might have a case here but passing for 4k plus whatever your rb's gives you will almost always lead to a better o.

Except that's not the case. Your QB accounting for 4k yards and the 23rd ranked o because he's got half your rushing yards is still a dog sh offense. People say he was garbage because he was. We sucked at passing and the o sucked overall.

We can't say that about our o last year. It was legit good. Because you had Jimmy accounting for 4k yards passing + a dynamic rushing attack.

Jimmy had the best combination of speed/talent/scheming on offense this team has seen since the Walsh/Seifert days.

You're right when you say that 2014 offense was dog sh. Jon and Marcus Martin, so obviously no run game (or pass pro). Boldin, Stevie, and Lloyd were pretty much toast at that point. VD dropped everything (and continued to do so in Denver). Coaches already out the door. Definitely not garbage to gain 4k yds in that situation imo. I know Jimmy couldn't do it lol

Garoppolo is better than Mullens but Garoppolo is not fool proof. Thinking there would be a blow out when guys are putting the ball on the floor is silly. Who knows say Garoppolo is back there and gets one of those hits that Mullens took would probably shatter him into a million pieces. Everything turned out the way it was supposed to be, a defensive battle and sloppy handling of the ball.

you forgot LOL at the end.
Laughing at Mr. Glass is not funny, come on now.

oh, my mistake.

LOL.

This team is built to win right now. It's not rebuilding. It doesn't need to "retool" or whatever BS trope fans type into their keyboard.

When healthy this is very likely the best roster in the NFL. Certainly top 3.

Garoppolo has been too good to you. You've forgotten what absolute s**t QB play looks like. We can't do better in the offseason with a veteran...and we won't do s**t in 2021 with a rookie QB. That's that.

The time to win is right now. Not 2022.

this fanbase really has forgotten. well said.

Now you wanna switch it up lol. A carry is a carry. Doesn't matter who takes the carry. The #1 rushing attacks usually have a dual threat QB. It helps the run game it doesn't hurt it
Well if we're gonna win a few more and it looks like we may, I think I am off the dump Jimmy wagon. It only works if we can stay in the top ten picks. We appear to be getting healthy enough to win at least a couple more which makes the move to costly. We are going to have to go with a restructure to spread out his money and grab a raw but high potential prospect later on. Give me a blue chip interior lineman in round 1 now.
