JG will be our QB next season regardless

Yup. Only way we make a pickup is later in the draft or if the Jets are willing to part with Darnold for a 4th.

Oh I still think we will be getting a new backup upgrade somewhere. Maybe Darnold, maybe a mid round pick . We are going to play ourselves out of being in a spot for the high end kids in the draft, but I don't think its going to be late rounds before we make a move. Its going to be round 3ish if we don't find something before the draft. They may not be able to get rid of Jimmy and I think the kind of want to, but they can still send a message and try to push him.

Mullens is a back- up at best what's the problem?

He helped beat a 7- 3 team. He went 24 for 35 with an INT and the INT was a result of a batted ball by the great Aaron Donald. He had two bad throws to Reed. One over the middle which Reed had a near tantrum over and one down the sideline. I mean everyone should be in good spirits that the back- up beat the division leader. Whether by 3 or by 30 a win is a win.

I wouldn't say helped lol.

Dude should have had two more INTs. Missed open Receivers. I think like 100 of deebo's 133 yards were after the catch lol.

They won despite of the QB play.

Watching this s**tshow offense with our backups I am more convinced than ever that Jimmy is a top 10 when he's on the field. The problem is that he can't stay healthy for the life of him and that is a major knock on his overall score as a QB. The best ability is availability and the guy has problems managing injuries throughout his career dating back to his days as Patriots QB.
When is he able to come back ? I know they said maybe later in the season possibly.

There's like 1 QB in the entire league who can make up for piss poor consistent pass protection and even he hasn't been back to a Superbowl despite being in the hunt annually for league MVP.

If you're counting on a QB to makes up for the current standard of unit pass protection issues here, the odds are massively against you.

Lol no there's about a dozen QBs who make up for less then stellar OL play.

Like? And how far have they gone? Like we see with Seattle every single year, it usually catches up to you and you can only go so far.

Houston, Seattle, Ravens, Carolina, etc.

I agree the landscape is changing and we're going to see a few more this year: Bills, Miami, Cleveland and Arizona in the mix too.

Is this the formula for winning a Superbowl though? That's our goal.

You still have the traditional formulas still in the hunt: KC, Tampa Bay, New Orleans, SF, Rams, MN, WA, LV, TN, IND, Pitt, etc.

He's better than Mullens but no way is he a top 10 QB. Maybe not even top 15 but comparing him to Mullens I can see how you could say that. problem is Mullens isn't even a top 32.

If mediocre is the 4th most yards gained in a season for the franchise then what the hell is elite? lol

He's actually 5th. Kap gained over 4k yds in 2014

Nope Jimmy is 4th. Kap only had 3339 yards passing in 14. I know you went with passing + rushing but you left out Jimmy's 62 yards rushing giving Jimmy the slight edge.

Ah for some reason I had Kap at 4108 instead of 4008. Still dangerously close to Kaps "garbage" 2014. And it wouldn't matter if Kap had 0 passing yds and 4k rushing yds in 2014. All yards count the same.

No way you were wrong. That never happens

His time table was 4 to 6 weeks. Next week is week 5.

Yup. Hurt outside the pocket twice and twice this year inside the pocket (all 4 from instant pressure though). He's great at spinning to avoid direct shots but the lower body seems to be the weak link in his armor. And now his mechanics are a hot mess and he's seeing ghosts like Mullens yesterday. No trust in an untrustable line.

Look I don't think Mullens is anything but he is better than Beathard who would have been rocked into oblivion because he is even less mobile than Garoppolo. Trust the coaches they know a little something too.

I saw potentially one more interception down the sideline where he overthrew Reed. But that's part of football every single week for every QB.

As for Samuel that's what this offense does no matter what QB is behind Center LOL.

Yeah, Mullens is a back up at best but defenses are paid to play too. It's not a plug and play thing like some think. Just ask Goff who is better than anything on this team currently.

Yeah, very fair as to the injuries.

This offense is real real s**tty without him at QB, even with all of our flashy weapons back sans Kittle. Hope he comes back Next Monday in the desert, he gives us our best shot at winning.
I don't think the window for Jimmy practicing even opens until at least the week we play Washington.

Mullens is straight crap. Beathard is straight cap (I actually think he's the most mobile of the bunch, he just can't process the field quick enough).

Really not much to debate with either guy they're both 💩
