Jimmy is an insurance policy. Why cut him now? If we could get a 1st for him he'd be gone,...but given his contract and current status, there are no takers. But maybe there could be by game 3, so protect the young kid and hold out for now.

If he is somehow, some way on this team next year and nothing tragic has happened to the kid, then you certainly win because you'd expect them to be priming for a 2022 run if 2021 doesn't happen, and could certainly use the contract's final year cap space.

I mean they put band-aid's on everything this yr as far as contracts go...they got a ton of 1 year cheap vet deals because of covid. They have around 34 players signed next yr. Yes Jimmy's will be off the books and more than likely Ford, but you got Bosa due for a big deal in a couple years, McG, Deebo, CB/S and no 1st rd picks for a couple years & just upgrading in general.

ANY extra money is gold right now.

They don't owe him any money...literally damn near all his GTD cash is gone. He was paid that s**t upfront. So yes they don't owe him anything at this point.

yeah okay...team practices aren't until April regardless of when you trade for them. Watson doesn't get to camp any sooner than Lance does. You were completely fine with that scenario BUT now "team chemistry" is all of a sudden worth $26M

Why would anyone on the team not support him? That's what teammates do here in SF. I haven't heard one bad comment or calling someone out since Kyle got here. I've also seen players saying great things about Lance all the same.

End of the day players know it's a business...I'm sure they were pissed Buck was all of a sudden gone or Kwon getting traded... BUT they know it's a business, this isn't summer camp.

This team will be onboard with whomever is the QB.

The have a full off season with Lance right now lol. There wouldn't be anymore locker room chemistry with Watson/Rogers or any high end vet they could have traded for all the same. It's a horrible excuse to pay Jimmy $26M and you know it.

man NY lol. If you are really saying the team doesn't see each other until OTA and camp.. you really dug in on this. As we see Lance working with receivers outside of practice/OTA/Camp already

being supportive and team chemistry are two different things. you really spun my statement lol
