This is my favorite episode because they ignore the fact that once Green Bay scored on back to back possessions to make it a two score game in the 4th quarter, the 49ers ran three pass plays on the next possession as part of a nearly 5 minute drive to get the lead back to 17. Also ignores that they actually ran 12 pass plays, but one resulted in a sack and three resulted in defensive penalties.

Agreed. Again, context. Actually watching the game closely...and then remembering details like what you mention here.

And, your two-score game note is important as that isn't a lot when facing a QB like Rodgers.

so what you're saying is, the play calling was a result of the flow and how the game went?

so weird, I thought it was because Jimmy threw a pic versus the Vikings in the second half of their game the week prior and thus we were scared to pass at all in the Green Bay game due to lack of trust 😨

Especially with 8 minutes to go.

His poor performance the week before had Kyle say "eff it,...I'll use him when I have to."

There we are vs. the Vikes with an unworthy chance of tying the game up before the half even though it shouldnt've been much of a contest by that point.

If you cant see that "WTF" look on Kyle's face I just don't know what to say,...lol

I'm not sure what Jimmy was trying to accomplish there🤔

prime example of what Jimmy needs to show he's improved on this season; always struggled to see the underneath or roaming Middle linebacker. same thing in the Panthers game that season to Kuechely.

Very simple. People are curious about Jimmy throwing less against GB in the playoffs without seeing the eggs Jimmy laid after a nice 1st drive vs. the Vikes the week before.

It's clear as day why the GB gameplan was run heavy as hell. You'd naturally like to be more fine-tuned up passing the ball in the game right before the Super Bowl, but you want to be there to begin with, so it is what it is.

his conspiracy is that, based on that 1 pick in the Vikings game, Shanahan just said "eff it... Ill use him when I have to" and used that logic to dictate his play-calling by hiding Jimmy for the rest of the post season

Yeah, I remember that one too, I believe he said he was trying to force It to Kittle.

meet you in the middle here - this is something that actually bothered me a ton going into the SB. Was that, regardless of WHY Shanahan decided to run as much as he did, I always saw it as a disservice to Jimmy and the offense. Just don't think it was a good thing to do for your QB who needs the reps on what could easily turn into a shootout vs. Mahomes. definitely hate that it ended up being mostly run run run, sincerely.

I'm not so sure he didn't see Kendricks, I think he just thought he could fit it in there before he would have time to get over. Kendricks made a hell of a play.
