.

i'll take Kyle's word over some random Niner fan on a forum who's blatantly biased against Jimmy

"I'm sure Jimmy was a little pissed off from it just like I would be," Shanahan said Monday. "But me knowing Jimmy, he will be fired up and come in and work his butt off. The more mad Jimmy gets, usually the better he gets."

Just calling it as I see it. Shanahan had to say something.

And "coming in and working his but off" is something I kinda already alluded to.

I wanna hear alot more about him working hus butt off before he comes in, tho. I think that part is a lacking compared to those extra-motivated guys that train hard away from the team.

yeah. i think you believe you know more about Jimmy than Kyle. i'm not surprised.

Or is it this?? What did you prove? a quote from our head coach that approved trading 3 picks to get someone else?

Come on boast,...I appreciate your passion for your team's players, but have some self-control here.

"He comes in and works his butt off" (a quote you of course take to heart because you love the guy)

vs.

"He's pretty much a slow starter at the beginning of the year then seems to pick it up, unlike some other QBs." (my words)

Uhmmm,...dude,...don't you see that the coachspeak-quote parallels what I'm saying? Where have I ever suggested he doesn't come in during the season and work hard? I've specifically questioned for the past several years what he truly works on to improve his game as a QUARTERBACK.

Nothing about his muscles, nothing about how hard he works after the offseason. Starting out slow as a passer and coming in working hard to get better go hand in hand.

And I wish we could be given more evidence than we have when this season starts, but it's one of those situations where his results from the past several years are etched in stone. Because if he's all of a sudden better game 1 now that Trey here I'm saying "told you so",...and if he comes in throwing errant passes everywhere the first few games, I'm still saying "told you so."

It's just one of those things that are locked into the past and you just have to swallow your pride here boast. Cheers.

exactly why I asked if he started watching in 2020 or just totally forgot, lol. Levi's was f**king loud. place was jacked.

That's 2019 when we were dominant. What about the other years? Lol. You truly don't get the concept of home field advantage if you don't get that with some places, even without a Super Bowl - bound team - you can still have crowds that are absolutely nuts and tip the edge in your favor.

Every time you only reference 2019, then you are supporting my argument. It's 2021.

About half of our games will be on the road this year,... And their fans will be back in full effect as well our passing game loses an advantage if anything (road), while our defense probably gets a boost (home). Moot point.

And our 1st 2 games are on the road, so dead point.

Whatever advantages our passing game will have this year will have to be earned.

ramble49er,

so did you start watching after 2019 or do you simply not remember 2019 and how loud it was?

I never said he goes to the Bahamas for 2 months every year and roams around as a drunkard. Again,...I'm comparing him to high-level players due to his contract.

I saw zero improvement from that poor playoff showing on into the start of 2020.

Where could you have possibly seen improvement? He was healthy for 1 game. After no pre-season to get the rust off and without the teams top two WRs. 2 TDs and 0 INTs in game 1 with Bourne/Taylor/Pettis combining for 4 catches for 41 yards.

1-game sample size vs. a 19 game sample size from the year prior is all you need to compare seasons. your didn't know this?

Our defense will be helped by fans being back.

Our passing game (this is a QB thread right?) will not be helped because they have to play in other stadiums where fans are back. Not only that, but QBs tend to like quieter crowds @ home. I know it doesn't help the narrative, but it's all true.

Simple.

It's fake....unless all these "people" were ALL lucky enough to see Jimmy in a private workout....are all getting "ready" to drop the vid, and all of them just happen to say the same thing word for word in their tweet

I'll be more than happy if Jimmy is sharp AF.

Jimmy and "let it rip" don't belong in the same sentence.
