Not sure why boast can't see that.

no one is saying he didn't work hard previous years. He could have just became complacent with f**king mullens and beathard being the only "threats". It's human nature.

Nice new article from here w/a vibe I wanted to hear about after last year's season:

Shanahan seems especially impressed with Garoppolo's offseason work, adding, "And I thought he had as good of OTAs as he's had since he's been here. So that really excites me about Jimmy going into training camp." Shanahan noted that the quarterback came to OTAs (organized team activities) having improved upon the previous season. He expects Garoppolo to build off that. And having an improved offensive team around him will only help. The San Francisco coach said he told his quarterback, "...there's no rookie who is going to just come in here right away and be able to take your job if you're at the top of your game and what I've seen so far is him getting there. And that's very exciting for me. It's very exciting for the Niners and it's early those were OTAs..."

So what exactly was it that impressed Shanahan this offseason? When asked, the coach responded, "Just how sharp he was, the rhythm of getting the ball out on time, where it was going. Just even if I didn't watch the film, if I just watched his body language, how he talked to people, how he called the play he was very clear. He was very sharp, aggressive in what he did. And it was, it was good to see and excited me while we were away. And you can hear that I'm excited about it now."

So chalk Shanahan up as someone who ALSO thinks how you come in and report on day 1 (after adversity from the previous season) is immensely important.

Since year after year I haven't seen Shanahan speak like this going into training camp the last several years, it could either be fluff (to eventually trade him) or more likely, that drafting a rook @ his position Top 3 in the draft has lit a fuse.

Unfortunately for some players in cozy positions contractually, competition is what it takes.

so we can definitively agree that more than likely this time this isn't coach-speak, possibly?

also remember Alex having his best season in 2017 when Maholmes was drafted. if we get something similar with Jimmy, heck more, well f**k yeah

these reports DO NOT prove your stupid "Jimmy didn't work hard previously" take. not one bit.

These reports certainly back up my take until you link me to similar reports before day 1 of practice last year. A little emotional, are we?

Find the evidence and post it here about how he improved over last offseason. I'm all eyes.
You mean the no OTA, no mini camp and abnormal training camp off-season?

Yes,..I will admit that last season certainly deserves an asterisk. Reading around though, it certainly didn't impede other QBs by comparison. I'm talking about the work done ASIDE from OTAs.

But given the asterisk is why I looked at years passed as well and also noticed a trend of slow starts before he gets things going as the season progresses. I've posted about it all before. I'll link you to it.

lol no. it's on you to post reports that JG came into camp in previous seasons unmotivated. you made the claim. back it up.

no one's emotional. youre trying to take the positive news from this camp and apply it to previous seasons. youre trying really hard to prove JG was an unmotivated player but you have absolutely ZERO proof of it. you keep trying to say but...but...but the 2020 season when that season was an anomaly because of COVID.

2020 wasn't the only season he started slow

How can I say that a person wasn't motivated? You, sir, are lying due to emotions. Again,...calm down and breathe.

I think that he doesn't have the same fire and motivation to get better on his own without -- you know, a rook pressuring him from his job -- than some other top QBs I've seen.

Why do I have to constantly correct your words on my stance if you aren't too emotional? Why cant you just quote what I've said from before without making up lies I've never said?

In 2019 I was at that initial game in Tampa myself and disappointed in his play. He looked like he wasn't ready.

But the overly-emotional claim I'm just a hater when I reference the truth,...lol.

I expect Jimmy to have a fast start this season but it'd only CONFIRM my previous suspicions regarding him. boast,...you aren't winning this one. Find something else.

In addition to the previous camp reports,...2018, 2019, and 2020. At what point is it a trend in your mind? Do I have to wait 10 years?

again post reports that JG was unmotivated like you claim. youre using this year's words from people on the team. let's see previous comments. should be easy. i'll be waiting.

I've NEVER said he's unmotivated, though. Not even once. I have linked you to discussions previously, though, so as to not have to post the same exact stuff over and over. Why the need to continually change what I've said if your position isin't weak?

When you calm down....give it a read.

having a down performance and not being motivated to work are not the same thing, you forget this is a team sport and unless you have transcripts from the film room, you have no idea if all the performance issues were JG's fault. did the OL have something do to with it? did the WR?

stop trying to say I'm emotional. these now two lame passive aggressive attacks will only get you reported.

you totally questioned JGs work ethic and drive (motivation). we went over this months ago.

i don't care what post you dig up from the 1300 takes you've made in this thread.

Yes,...they are not the same thing. Which is why I look and refer to trends all the time. You should give it a try as well.

I echo what Kyle has probably been waiting to say after previous offseasons without waiting to be a few games in: Jimmy looks to have improved from last season. He didn't say his health looks to have improved (for those that say Kyle's only been concerned with health lol),...he's talking about his ability as a quarterback.

You give guys big contracts for years,....you give them virtually no competition,...and things like this happens w/ some of the highest paid professionals. It happens. There are HOF players right now in Canton that were known for lethargic offseasons. It's sports.

There are some of the hardest workers you will ever find that when they vacation,...they VACATION. There are others that take all of their paperwork with them on the vacation. It's life. Everyone's not the same.

Over the offseason? YES,...I certainly do and have and have detailed why. The best in the business work the hardest to get better when no one's around.

Other than leaving the word offseason out,...will you also report that you finally paraphrased my words correctly after days of making up stuff in my name? How many times do we need to go over the same old stuff? I've given you the old links if you want to continue reliving it.

Lol boast doesn't get that reports like this only solidify my point about the previous seasons. Some get it,..some dont.

Virtually every other position (aside from kickers) has players that you can legitimately compete with day in, day out. So observing the QB spot is just different.

But competition is great.

where does it say he didn't show up to camp motivated in previous seasons? youre taking Kyles and others excitement this year and twisting it to work with your lame take. this is typical with you random.

agreed that's its always been a pretty s**tty take. imagine fans like us having a clue as to what its like to be along side a professional athlete day in and day out all offseason and regular season.
