LOL.
means our D-line is dominant as f**k haha
Two things...the last time that happened:
1. It was a harbinger of 2019 D-line dominance
2. Jimmy G snapped out of it and led us to the SB

You are correct. Good catch.
Not really sure why you wouldn't wear it all the time if you plan on wearing it during the season. Would think it would be useful to keep everything the same.

Nice new article from here w/a vibe I wanted to hear about after last year's season:
Shanahan seems especially impressed with Garoppolo's offseason work, adding, "And I thought he had as good of OTAs as he's had since he's been here. So that really excites me about Jimmy going into training camp." Shanahan noted that the quarterback came to OTAs (organized team activities) having improved upon the previous season. He expects Garoppolo to build off that. And having an improved offensive team around him will only help. The San Francisco coach said he told his quarterback, "...there's no rookie who is going to just come in here right away and be able to take your job if you're at the top of your game and what I've seen so far is him getting there. And that's very exciting for me. It's very exciting for the Niners and it's early those were OTAs..."
So what exactly was it that impressed Shanahan this offseason? When asked, the coach responded, "Just how sharp he was, the rhythm of getting the ball out on time, where it was going. Just even if I didn't watch the film, if I just watched his body language, how he talked to people, how he called the play he was very clear. He was very sharp, aggressive in what he did. And it was, it was good to see and excited me while we were away. And you can hear that I'm excited about it now."
So chalk Shanahan up as someone who ALSO thinks how you come in and report on day 1 (after adversity from the previous season) is immensely important.
Since year after year I haven't seen Shanahan speak like this going into training camp the last several years, it could either be fluff (to eventually trade him) or more likely, that drafting a rook @ his position Top 3 in the draft has lit a fuse.
Unfortunately for some players in cozy positions contractually, competition is what it takes.
