What DO they do in the last scenario? Literal nightmare scenario, right.
(Well actually the nightmare is them both totally sucking tiny little ant balls)

JG will be starting. Lance would have to be so unbelievably better in practice / pre-season to get the nod. It's not a vet thing, its a "watch and learn before someone stomps you while doing something you got away with in DII football".
Now, do I believe Lance will be starting games this season? Yes, because the probability JG roles a full 16 is very unlikely.

I watching last years game in Seattle, and it seemed like they kinda figured him out. It wasn't until Mullens started pushing the ball that we started to gain some ground. But pushing the ball isn't our offense with Jimmy, its more horizontal than a vertical offense.
Stupid question

as ive said over and over and over my view is that i dont think the team is interested in trading him and JG has a no trade clause anyway.
Making stuff up? You said people were calling him untraceable because those people were saying that because of his perceived performance.
So are you saying he isn't untradeable or that he is but for reasons other than his on field performance?
why are trying to argue a completely unrelated context than what i mentioned? the people that claim he's untradeable linked it to his performance. i'm not sure what you don't understand.

Lies. I've known his contract issues all along. Steve's seen me talk about his $20+ MIllion contract time after time in relation to trades or midseason addition it might prevent. You brought up the subject,....so it's only fair you answer Steve's question.

As I said before,...if there's a Julio Jones-type move you can make if you're confident in Trey,...you make it.
With Jimmy's contract and the (lack of) desire of other teams to take him,...we're really stuck in the mud because who'd take him is probably going to have to agree to pay him.
So if there's no players to make space for,...then there's no move to be made. If there are players to make space for and your starter is legit, then you dispose of him. It gives you a better chance at making it to the Super Bowl when a backup that likely won't play isn't hitting your cap @ a $20 Million clip. Just common sense.
But nothing wrong with having serviceable guys as backups on a good team. You posed the question as if it'd be a problem late in the season,...but it's the usual.
Duhhhhhh
riddle me this… if I keep talking in circles will it still look like I was able to answer the question….
stay tuned for the next circle jerk

If lance gives us our best chance to win. We start em. I can live with the ups and downs cause he's our future going forward and what he brings to our offense eg vertical passing, running is too much to pass up

A super salient point, I wish more people would take note of it.
Everyone in such a rush to play the kid. Imagine not having him at all???
This will be a Mullensless, CJless season 100%. Hopefully it's just #10 and #5 who take meaningful snaps for the 49ers this season.

Wait, so people are actually triggered that there's never been a QB competition, and Jimmy is the projected starter going into week 1? If only Kyle told us this from the very beginning….oh wait
