Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, Los Angeles Rams

Gonna be a real interesting year for Jimmy considering he's in a lame duck situation. I feel like if the Niners are earning wins by squeaking by, the beatwriter's narrative will be "Niners could be blowing out teams with Trey Lance!", which will end up putting Jimmy on a very short leash.

Its all about the manner in which we are winning and how Jimmy is performing individually. Thats what a lot of people dont seem to be able to grasp. Winning isnt the end all when discussing INDIVIDUAL performance. If the coaching staff feels like Jimmy is contributing to the wins in a major way, he will keep his job. If the coaching staff feels like we are winning in spite of Jimmy, then he will be on the hot seat or replaced. Winning is all that matters for a team. It is not all that matters for an individual player.

Totally agree. It's just that you know what comes with the QB position is the blame game! The media is licking their chops this year regarding Jimmy.

It would have been ruthless if they kept him in the dark about it.

Bringing in his replacement is more ruthless than whatever Goatie is referring to. No mass exodus thus far.

He brought up the word ruthless to describe how some in the forum would handle Jimmy. You then implied that the team drafting his replacement was ruthless.

i heard joe shasky on 957 the game saying how he hopes kyle learned from his mistakes with jimmy. that he hopes he doesnt hurt trey's development like he did with jimmy.
