The sneak with 25 some odd seconds left in the 2nd quarter where he got hit at the line and pushed back--10/10 times the old Jimmy would have given upright there and hit the dirt for the loss and 4th down.

But he plowed forward for more than enough yardage for the obvious 1st.

I loved seeing that.

Jimmy has always been a qb sneak goat. Where do people come up with this stuff.

OL is a little better, but even then doesn't account for scheme. Trent Williams called it out last year, said they had him credited with sacks given up on the year when the 49ers in house analysis unit - that actually knows the scheme of the plays called, had him with 0.

Tells me all I need to know about PFF's QB ratings.

It's not on them. It's on you guys for making so much out of ratings after only a couple weeks. Not the same as rankings.
Another early season QB ranking:

Watch it.

It was failed from the start, defender broke through and had him dead to rights. Garoppolo was hit hard immediately and pushed well behind the line. It wasn't even a sneak at this point, he was a full on RB, lol.

I don't recall seeing Garoppolo break tackles like that after the knee injury.

I'd love to see it, if so.

Don't shoot the messenger, not me saying it
"Kyle Shanahan's ability to problem solve and find Garoppolo open throws in the second half is why the 49ers can still win with him, even if the passing game is slants to Deebo Samuel and screens to everyone else."

Does Rosenthal even football? He's clueless. Rewatch all 6 Deebo catches from Week 2. Where are the slants?
Drag, Curl, Curl, Dig, Flat, Dig.

What a moron. jimmy ranked 15 qbr and 9 nfl. and he pulls a #20 rating out of his a$$.

the first fumble of the season shouldnt count.

another enlightened d bag whos preaching a narrative and not seeing how jimmy singlehandedly won that game for us on offense as kyle gameplan got blown up instantly.

I'm saying he was the main reason we won on offense -- and the defense really had a helluva game too of course

no one is minimizing Deebo tho. nice false argument.

but youre clearly minimizing Jimmy

It's what some of these posters do, either subtly or not so subtly, and in the process it reveals some things about actual football knowledge.

look at Ring's post history in this thread. 99% of the tweets posted are an attempt to put Jimmy in a negative light

How is this related to the 49ers? DM him if you have issues with his post history percentage or whatever else.

LOL...Mighty chivalrous of you.

The ranked ratings are not meant to be rankings?

Mark Schlereth is all in on Jimmy...

"Jimmy Garoppolo has spectacular arm talent," Schlereth said on air. "And I mean spectacular. One thing I love about him is that he doesn't care how you win. He doesn't care if you go into the NFC Championship and throw it eight times."

"A quarterback who has "spectacular" arm talent, as Schlereth describes of Garoppolo, does more than throw a nice deep ball. Arm talent as a trait does indeed consist of arm strength, but it's more than that. It consists of a quarterback's ability to make different kinds of throws in different situations and from different locations and arm slots. A quarterback with exceptional arm talent has control over their passes, they can rocket a throw over to a receiver or carefully lob a pass with finesse and touch. "

Cool story but what does Schlereth know about QB'ing.

Probably more than the random guys ranking QB's on ESPN, NFL and CBSSports.com. At least he played the game at a high level and accomplished quite a bit playing along side a HOF QB.
Deebo on the wrong side lol good job on Jimmy and Trent to adjust the play

You might be right, but his description of "spectacular" doesn't sound like Jimmy. Jimmy's got nice lasers down the middle of the field, but he's doesn't have the touch pass like R Wilson, or even Derek Carr.

Spectacular arm to me, is Mahomes, and Rodgers, maybe even Kyler Murray. Nothing but lasers or rainbows.

He knows what Joel Klatt tells him .

For non-Denver-ites, Schlereth does the morning shows and Joel calls in once a week and tells Mark what he is actually seeing from a QB standpoint rather than what Schlereth is guessing. But overall Schlereth is pretty funny and what you would expect from Staley doing a morning show... though I bet Staley could come up with a better green chili recipe.

Cool. Hopefully that helps Jimmy's trade value.
