Yeah why would they trade him and put a rookie in who had not played for 1 year. We would be competing with Salah and the Lions for the best first round pick

Yeah, I don't buy that the Patriots would offer a 2nd. Jimmy had no real market, probably only they would want him.

And after the move up in the draft, it was pretty clear that they would be able to get him cheaper, specially if they bought the idea that the 9ers would draft Mac Jones, who would be a day one starter.

We kinda already are competing with Salah and the lions right now lol except we don't have a first round pick to look forward too.
I see 300+ pass yds and 3+ pass TDs barring another bomb cyclone atmospheric river convergence.

Really want to see him bounce back from last Sunday and have a very good game all the way through. Would be great to see him put up those numbers you mention. And just the team in general...be better in all three phases throughout the Bears game and give yourself a good chance to win (and then build upon that win).

It broke my heart when I heard Bill Walsh say that sometimes coaches are not always truthful in how they answer questions. Sometimes you just have to lie in order to protect the interests of the team.

So we should just believe a book by some random journalist over our beloved head coach? There's a lot of incentive for this author to embellish the truth in order to sell more copies of his book.

None of us know for certain if there was ever any talk about such a trade. What I do know, or believe, is that it would have been foolish to trade Jimmy at that point and have no solid bridge QB at all. As I have said in other threads, the 49ers could likely have stayed at #12 and picked Jones if they were willing to trade Jimmy. However, we would all have screamed if they gave up all that capital for a guy that would have been available later. In truth, I think there was some panic to make sure they got a good one and so they gave up a LOT.

NE might have dangled something but it would have been quickly turned down, IMO.
as if the embattled signal caller needed one last hit to take, he ended up being the butt of a joke during a game in which he didn't even play. Tom Brady was a guest on the "MNF" Manningcast, and the Manning brothers flashed to the moment where the Patriots won Super Bowl XLIX on Malcolm Butler's famous last-second interception at the goal line.

In the clip, Brady jumps up and down out of excitement – and Garoppolo, then Brady's backup, runs over to try to celebrate with him. Brady appears to dismiss him completely.

"I wanna talk about how you had Jimmy G right there and you completely ignored him," Eli Manning said on the broadacst. "Said, 'I'm not gonna give you a high-five.' And just nothing. 'Nope, you get nothing'."

"Very telling. Very telling there," Peyton Manning added.

In 38 career games with us, he only has 5 with 3 or more TDs, so it seems unlikely.
