Because he is.

It also doesn't mean that he has to be the long term answer.

But let's not rewrite history with false narratives

Yeah because you have no earthly idea what good quarterbacking looks like, probably because you only watch 49ers football. I was right about Stafford. All of you were wrong. I was right about Brady. All of you were wrong. I was right about Mahomes. All of you were wrong. I mean I see a pattern.

Yeah, quite irrelevant. How many great QBs have the Patriots made out of their backups? The answer is ZERO. Brady is the only one. And Belichick wasn't even handling the offense — Josh McDaniels was. When any former Patriots backup QB who played under Brady throws 30 touchdowns in a season, get back to me.

Well, ours threw for 27. It wasn't quite 30, but it was good for 6th in the NFL that year, and was more TD's than Mahomes, Rodgers, and Watson threw that year.

Ours was also helped the most by his teammates per pass. Our WRs were first in the NFL in pass yards after catch per reception, and our QB was last in the NFL in actual thrown distance per attempt. How this escapes notice of 49ers fans is astounding to me. But we tend to be homers, so of course many won't realize it.

Less about how right I was than how wrong you guys were.

What difference does that make?

To start, that is the makeup of our receiver corp. Deebo is a YAC guy. Kittle is a YAC guy. We didn't have any sort of deep threat until Emmanuel Sanders came in, and when he came on board, we started airing it out more. The ball that Jimmy gets crapped on for missing in the Super Bowl? Connected on that same play just a couple weeks earlier on 3rd and 16 to clinch the division against the Rams. So the idea that Jimmy can't make that throw is ridiculous.

He had 8.4 YPA that year, and was 3rd in the NFL in YPA. Meaning the offense was moving at a far more than efficient rate under Jimmy. Yards and points aren't worth more just because the ball was thrown longer in the air. It's a made up stat that means nothing. The offense was moving better under Jimmy and YAC than most of the QB's who were airing it out.

You lost me at Jimmy is good. He is not in the same universe as good. Give me whatever it is you take before games because that is some serious perception altering stuff.

$24.2 mil per season, 2 SB rings, 3 SB appearances, 26-11 as a starter, yet we cannot seem to win when he doesn't start.

His passer rating career is 97.8 look up all time leaders in passer rating, look up where 97.8 ranks and get back to me.

JImmy's Super Bowl rings as a BACK UP are COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT.

I can't believe how far you guys are willing to go

Wow the blind support

If Jimmy doesn't step up soon you can stick a fork in his career and as a QB1 player and contract.

Sometimes the support I see in here is like Yelp reviews. There's so many fake reviews and clearly friends and family making blind claims of support.

  1. We want him to do well!
  2. He really sucks bad lately, really bad !
  3. He has not shown any ability to lift others up and carry a team on his back. He really needs others to play well to mask his deficiencies.

His QB rating this year is 90. Considering no Kittle, Aiyuk somehow regressing, Sanu being heavily involved, that's pretty good. Considering the hand of God atmospheric river game, it's even better. He should be able to build upon his performances in the coming weeks. I expect big things going forward.

I'll believe it when I see it and cheer just the same. The other team had played under the same adverse weather conditions. They also had 2 starting DBs out and their safety. He should have done better. Let's see if the homecoming helps.

Yeah when you start with Detroit and end with the atmospheric river bomb cyclone once every 50 year weather pattern that will happen. Good point tho I didn't realize it's dropped each game. If he doesn't buck the trend this Sunday even I will be changing my tune. He will tho I estimate a passer rating of 114.8.
