Wow the blind support

If Jimmy doesn't step up soon you can stick a fork in his career and as a QB1 player and contract.

Sometimes the support I see in here is like Yelp reviews. There's so many fake reviews and clearly friends and family making blind claims of support.

  1. We want him to do well!
  2. He really sucks bad lately, really bad !
  3. He has not shown any ability to lift others up and carry a team on his back. He really needs others to play well to mask his deficiencies.

His QB rating this year is 90. Considering no Kittle, Aiyuk somehow regressing, Sanu being heavily involved, that's pretty good. Considering the hand of God atmospheric river game, it's even better. He should be able to build upon his performances in the coming weeks. I expect big things going forward.

Yeeeeah but. 👀

Yeah when you start with Detroit and end with the atmospheric river bomb cyclone once every 50 year weather pattern that will happen. Good point tho I didn't realize it's dropped each game. If he doesn't buck the trend this Sunday even I will be changing my tune. He will tho I estimate a passer rating of 114.8.
jimmy is done, kaput

The thing is, Jimmy could easily go on a 2 game 100+ QB rating streak... you just don't know about the third and fourth game...or his health during that span.

True but one game at a time. If he balls out vs Chicago I'll be happy. Put the team on your back JG you have a rookie 6th round pick RB and you're making $24 mil time to carry.

Such a crazy storm that limited Carson Wentz to a miniscule 106.2 rating.

It was a bad day for everyone. Luck ruled and we lucked out. It is a simple as that. I really find it silly to make judgements of players on a day like that. Wentz made some bonehead looking mistakes as well. Like his turnover to Al-Ashar

If Jimmy looked markedly different in the rain than he has the rest of the season, I would give him the benefit of the doubt. But he didnt. The one throw that clearly slipped out of his hand because of the rain, would have been picked by a different defender if it didnt slip.
yeah i'm tired of making excuses for jimmy. He's not a starting caliber QB. I don't know of any other way to put it. If you had to say something jimmy does really well to justify being 1 of 32 people in the world that start at QB for the NFL what would it be? The only thing that comes to mind is that he has a quick release but ok? he doesn't take advantage of that.

Jimmy is bad in the sun, bad in the rain, bad in the day and bad in the night. You can say that's harsh, and i don't mean bad like he is not functional, but i have no faith in him for 4 quarters of a game. He can put a drive together here and there (maybe 2-3 per game max) when the run game is working, but beyond that just bad. I understand trey apparently isn't "ready" so it is what it is but jimmy is bad any way you want to slice it

So, what are you trying to say, french?
One of my good friends (who is normally a huge 49er homer) said to me the other day that there is nothing about quarterbacking that Jimmy does better than Alex Smith. And it got me thinking....Jimmy isnt "bad" but what exactly does he do really well? I have been trying to think about this, and the only thing I could come up with was a quick release. Other than that, I am having trouble coming up with anything that Jimmy does at a really high level.

He takes a lot of media sh#t and keeps smiling.

Ask the people here who think/thought he was a top 10 QB. I remember seeing top 5 or 6 too. Should be easy to come up with something other then a quick release right?

So much this. You could say a whole lot worse for 26M.

His only healthy season he was top 10 in nearly every single important statistical category besides obviously the most important AY. The guy had the most passing yards since Jeff Garcia where he was 4th all-time. He was a master and league leader in 3rd down conversion.

Now admittedly key word is "was" and even I have lost a bunch of faith that he will be that guy again. Before you say "he hasn't been that guy since...", I disagree. He get's a lot of flack for Philly when he led the team on a 9 minute drive where he converted 4/4 3rd downs if I'm not mistaken. He completely dominated that second half. Did you watch that s**t show last night and how terrible Kyler Murray looked a vast majority of last night? Now I'm not comparing the talent I'm bringing up that bad quarters or halves are not some rare experience for any QB in the league. Even the best. Against GB people dog him but again he moved the ball well and got us the lead with :37 left on the clock against the best team in the league nonetheless.

In a sense I agree with you that he's not getting it done enough as he's not winning us the games he should like last Sunday. At the same time there have been moments that he's played actually quite well. My patience is wearing thin though myself and if he doesn't get it done this Sunday, as in he doesn't play well enough to win or fails to have that chip on his shoulder, I myself am ready to move on. We can't wait any longer for him to find himself.
