Hey there's no doubt that Jimmy's played on the crappy side since the Seattle game. No excuse making he just hasn't done as well as he could. I'm a big Jimmy fan and I fully admit that. Now do I blame the guy playing like he's ghosted since his head coach has publicly stated that he has no confidence in Jimmy and the franchise has treated him like a houseguest that wouldn't leave? I think none of that is really helped. And I also think that Jimmy he's the kind of guy that can put together the bread-and-butter performance that we need to beat mediocre teams. So still hoping for that. Kia Soul turnovers. The turnovers have to get pretty close to zero for us too control games the way we need to.

I was a big Jimmy fan when we first got him. Then he got hurt in 2018 but came back strong in 2019. YThen another injury. My confidence in him started waning.

It now looks to me like he isn't the guy that came here in 2017. He knows the offense better but he seems more tentative than ever. I don't know whether he's bothered by the fact that Trey is looking over his shoulder. He could be but there were a lot of his fans that said he would respond to the challenge and have a big year in 2021. He hasn't so far and I'm afraid his trade value is going down with every loss.

So Lynch believes we've got the right players and Kyle thinks Jimmy's player well.

Hopefully so, because time is running out on salvaging this season. Jimmy needs to start playing like he's being paid or it's over this year.

The fact that he's better than some of those top 32 people in the world indicates he is indeed a starting caliber QB.

Elite release speed and excellent leadership. Very good with play-action.

Who is Jimmy currently better than? I'd maybe put him above a couple but he's absolutely a bottom 5 QB this year.

And I don't want to hear the WR excuse. Deebo, kittle are elite. Imagine if you put them with a decent QB!

Kittle? Where has he been? The ground game has blown up and that takes a lot of the effectiveness out of our old approach with Jimmy. Plus Jimmy still dinged
So much chatter for a simple answer- this guy sucks lol

I know man I once respected their candidness in press conferences. Now they sound like every bad coach and gm who will defend what they've done out of sheer stubbornness. I want some honesty. They've taken us to the SB so they have some leeway with us. I'd respect them more if they'd just come out and say I've coached poorly, I've drafted badly, poor trades, bad hats, haven't handled jimmy and trey correctly, etc. Time to own up and fix this sh*t

Unfortunately, I think Jimmy under Kyles system has been figured out. It took some time but the analysts got him, and we know it too. Some of us are hoping it's a mental thing that he suddenly snaps out of, but it appears much more than that as he's been exposed.

He can't hit a deep pass, and he doesn't throw well to the sticks and sidelines. His preference is short and over the middle. Great for the RAC yards of Deebo and Kittle, but the D can squat/bunch up the middle making it harder to run, and the corners can play man knowing Jimmy won't throw deep to the sides. Someone has posted throw patterns for JG and the stats all confirm this. Jimmy will continue to lose games while the good defenses force him to overcome his weakness. Kyle and John know this and it's why they drafted Lance who allowed us more WR sets and an unaccounted QB who can run at any time for quick yards. Jimmy is a statue that requires extra protection(extra TE) less WR sets and lately he's been holding the ball way too long.

Off the top of my head:
Goff, Fields, Wilson, Mills, Darnold (started out hot but has regressed to the mean), Daniel Jones,.

Sneaky blaming Kyle when each and every week Kyle is scheming points up on the board that Jimmy and the rest of the offense aren't executing. It by no means is all Jimmy, but Kyle is scheming touchdowns open (exhibit A: touchdown to Aiyuk, messed up by the tight end getting owned in pass protection).
Well it is kind of dumb to put a backup tightend on a de one on one in pass protection. Jimmy also took too many steps on his rollout.

If Jimmy took too many steps, then perhaps the protection held as it was supposed to?

But if not, THIS is indeed a place Shanahan has been failing, and constantly: assuming his players are better than they are, and calling plays as if they were capable of executing them.

maybe they'll say that after the season is done. They won't admit to being losers mid-season

It's so weird. Kyle was talking about their P.I. and in describing Norman's he said he wished he'd just let him go, let him catch it and then tackle him and "hope he drops it."

Well, that explains a lot. LOL

That was more of an observation than a fact. I have no idea how many steps he was told to take on that one.
