Jimmy played well yesterday. I'm not going to use the injuries as an excuse because we also were missing Verrett, Ford, Greenlaw, Kittle...so it's fair. He had to play well, and he did made some awesome throws and balled out.

Frustrating he doesn't throw more TD's....we have mediocre QB's tossing 30-40 Td's a season and he struggles like crazy.

I told yall, I freaking told yall. Jimmy's OUR qb this year and lance ain't ready! It's jimmy's team. I don't wanna hear anymore jimmy slander. ROAD TO THE PLAYOFFS BEGIN!!

You will hear Jimmy slander every time he makes a rookie mistake or forgets to bring his mechanics. If you want him to reach untouchable status, since he can't ho back to being a rookie, he'll have to win a Super Bowl. Until then, he gets praised when he does well (deep pass to Deebo) and he gets criticized when his poor mechanics rear their ugly head and cause inaccuracies (the very next play).

Yeah, Jimmy's issue is consistency anyone claiming they don't want to hear any "jimmy slander" or actual criticism, well he's gotta play better consistently. period.

Good win vs a bad team. Hopefully they can take that momentum and beat AZ.

Lol way to move that goal post....again....

Now it's consistency. Weird I don't recall you or 5 talking about consistency. Shouldn't you be apologizing because air yards got us a whopping 3 impressive points that had a very minimal impact for both teams? Where's Steve? I need a breakdown of how 3 air yards points were very impactful when we had 30 non air yard points.

Extremely extremely EXTREMELY important fantasy and betting stat, nothing more.

But consistency now.

See my last post.

I swear people here just aren't capable of seeing the big picture. All these SPECIFIC things we discuss about Jimmy are the reasons WHY he is inconsistent. His mechanics most of all are a contributor, and they seem to be quite random. Sometimes he does it right, and that's when he's accurate. Sometimes not, and that's usually why he's inaccurate. His field vision is spotty, but that doesn't hurt him all the time. There is a sequence if events that must happen in order for Jimmy's mediocre field vision to hurt him, resulting in his decision making appearing — wait for it — inconsistent. First, his first read must be covered. Second, a defender must be in the right place to make a play. There are other things that can affect things here and make it matter.

In other words, "inconsistency" isn't a specific criticism. It's a SUMMARIZATION of cumulative effect of his flaws (the ones we discuss here).

Nailed it! He has to be more consistent and that's unfortunately something he's yet to show us since he's been here. He's just been way too streaky so fans like myself are very hesitant to get all excited because we've seen this way too often.

greet game by Jimmy! Now keep it going's

This team has a hard time throwing into the end zone for some reason. After making that perfect 50 yard throw to Deebo he misses a wide open receiver in the end zone. That summarizes Jimmy's career. An occasional good throw followed by a bad one. Other QBs do this as well but Jimmy does it too often. That 50 yard pass to Deebo was similar to the one he over threw and got intercepted in a game earlier this year.

Must've missed it. I apologize I don't believe in any stat that starts with intended. Lol a star based off of intentions not reality.

Yeah you did…it's Average Intended Air Yards, which is basically depth of target. Jimmy yesterday in a win had 9.3 IAY which is by far his best number this yr and one of his highest since being in SF.

He had a 10.2 vs Seattle.

Yup let's keep it going!
How many drops did Jimmy have 3 or 4?

I guess he's throwing it too hard and needs some touch on his throws. Is that how it works

Face it folks the real stars frr the Niners yesterday were the O line. The same O line that some people like to call trash. Jimmy had all day long to throw and still threw high a few times. He wasn't touched all day. He was able to take his time, set his feet and complete a rare 50 yard pass to Deebo. The holes for the RBs and for Jimmy on those 2 TDs were huge. I don't know if the Bears D is that bad or the line really stepped up.

Overall Jimmy had a solid game. He avoided turnovers and made one really great throw. Without the behind the line screen pass that Deebo took 83 yards, Jimmy's numbers look like they usually do. 239 yards and no TD passes. Those 2 runs were through holes big enough for a lineman to run through. That's hardly enough to change people's minds.

The o line was much improved. So was the defensive backfield who were working on jump balls this past week. Suffice to say, they were most likely working on blocking assignments also. It was a solid game all around except the kicking game. We really need Gould back.

Hell no.

QB in the 1st round was absolutely necessary. Jones, Lance, Fields whoever. I would have been livid without one of those guys in round 1.

Rounds 2-5 however....flubbed seems about right at this juncture.

You said it was his highest this year. Seattle was higher.

Difference between Jimmy and athleruc play making QBs is athletic QBs can have a bad day, but make a few plays that keep their team in the game or even win it. Jimmy has to be consistent day in and day out in order to win. That or the defense has to play well enough to keep us in the game. He played a really good game but he has to stay consistent and do it all the time. Thats the biggest issue with him.

But props to him for silencing people for a week.
You'd swear we played the 85 Bears with some of this stuff but...

Lol,...defenses play you differently when you test more areas of the field.

#Breakdown over.
How did I miss the new football term of the day: "Non air yard points"

Wonder if that one goes viral?
