What do you guys think, JG to the Saints!!?

Got to at least kick the tires.

Yup and do what Denver did -Get a bunch of mid level picks, but still pay most of his salary. We know he's gone next year so may as well get some picks for the future.

They do this every year. Cards made big time trades. Even the Hawks "tried" with Adams and others (LT).

Remember when John Lynch "tried" for Khalil Mack?

Yup. That's why they're always competitive. Who needs draft picks anyway.

Or we can keep JG, he can string together some games building off this great performance, we can win this year and we can get a #1 or high end #2 in the offseason and turn things over to Trey.

Or your idea where we throw Trey to the wolves and sell JG when his trade value isn't maxed out and give up on this season without a #1 pick to look forward to. Either way I guess lol.

How do the Rams and Cards have the unlimited money and assets to keep acquiring these guys?

Well, for one, they now have NO picks rds 1-5. Check that out…according to GMFB. Still, it now makes them the team to beat in the SB. Compare that to two firsts and a swap up our 12th (or 13th) 1st for a 1 yr qb from a small school division that hasn't played in 2 yrs. Looking at it like that it makes the Trey trade look pretty iffy. I thot we were staying pat, and would take either Fields, Mack JOnes, or maybe Mund at #12 , whoever was there. Would have been insurance for jimmy, and given us perhaps a new QB further down the road. I like trey, just not at #3 and for 2 1sts plus our 1st rd pick for theirs.

Trey at #12 would have been a good pick for me. Same for Fields or Mack jones. Looking at the Rams picks in last couple yrs, it is obvious they want to win right now, and let the future ride. Will be interesting to see how this works out , several yrs down the pike. Wouldn''t you know we still have to play them twice now with Donald, Jalen , ?Foy?, and now Von Miller. That hurts. Word is Denver is paying his salary balance of this yr, also. Maybe those 1st rd (unknown or uncertain ) picks aren't as valuable as we all thot.

Rams have pushed all their chips into the table. They played a very physical game vs Tampa earlier this season have to think there will be a rematch down the line.

Second scenario is probably most likely.
Even if Jimmy G takes us further than we can imagine the Organization is in too deep with Trey Lance.

Clown post. This isn't Madden you can't just trade for a QB to fill a short term need for QB. What he's going to absorb the Saints system in 4 days? Gimme a break. Don't they have Taysom Hill on roster?

lol wait didn't we do exactly that with Jimmy in 2017

Absolutely. You could see him getting more and more comfortable and confident. Even his mechanics were far better.

Naturally a 55 yard air yard completion is going to massively skew IAY because it's based on an average. This is why mobile QB's are always highest on that stat...they almost always go deeper on off schedule plays. It still virtually says nothing about anything meaningful. That's why it's comical to spend so much time talking about it. But to each his own.

Now if it lead to a strong correlation with points, OK.

IAY isn't about completing passes…it's about depth of target. Yes your IAY goes up when you actually throw the downfield. That's the whole damn point lol. And look, success.

no one is saying he's gotta chuck it downfield every play, no one is saying he's gotta be top 5 in the league in IAY, just NOT damn near last.

No s**t.

Throwing ONE 55 yard ball IN the air will always skew the averaged stat because the number of throws are minimal in the overall sample. Like Trey's TD to Deebo.

Just like throwing a bunch of balls at or behind the LOS skews it as well but in the other direction.

And at the end of the day, it still means nothing. If anything, it tells you more about the OC's game plan, primary receiving routes, HC philosophy and the "deep" personnel than anything about the QB himself.

Nobody ever argued we shouldn't be taking more deeper shots. Nobody.

Must've missed it. I apologize I don't believe in any stat that starts with intended. Lol a star based off of intentions not reality.

Yeah you did…it's Average Intended Air Yards, which is basically depth of target. Jimmy yesterday in a win had 9.3 IAY which is by far his best number this yr and one of his highest since being in SF.

Playcalling made a difference yesterday.

Having time to throw from the pocket made the difference. Not play calling.

Those same plays have been called all year.

Fact check false. We weren't acquiring QB to fill a short term need. We were acquiring our franchise QB of the future. This would be a winning team acquiring a stop gap QB as a knee jerk reaction to a sudden major injury. Totally different scenarios.

Are you confused about the stat like you are about every mobile QB getting hurt this year? Hehe.
