I have hope for the playoffs again after Saints lost and lost Winston. I don't think that defense can keep up this level of play all year.
And like NC mentioned, hopefully we keep this sort of offense going forward. That was a very 2017 like game plan. The spread offense is definitely much friendlier for Jimmy and he seemed much more comfortable in it. If the run game can have the kind of success out of it going forward, there's no reason why we shouldn't be using more of a spread offense going forward.

My conclusion is to do it more often because I trust Deebo to make a play on the ball or prevent the INT.
I think the conversation in this thread is too focused on going deep. It's more about attacking all areas of the field, and while the deep Post is one area, it's not the one that will open up the middle of the field.
correct

One thing I saw him do that has been missed in the leadership role was when there were a couple drops. He gathered the wrs and had a talk with them. Seemed to work they played harder after that. He has always been a lead by example qb. I think they need a more vocal leader.

A lot of weird distractions in here about IAY...
... Only because your buddy TreyDey brought it up and your support for Jimmy G caused you to hop right on...
It's literally a topic that just drives you nuts and you can't leave alone.
Just clarifying.
Nothing to clarify about that. I do think it's a silly stat. LOL
It is fun to discuss because of how many things can play into it. Kyle is the QB here.

Totally. Nothing to overblow here. It was simply a really good team game minus a few drops, poor throws and ST and defense issues. The defense was very poor with the Bears first punt coming in the 2nd half but fortunately, the offense was more than enough to erase the 4 points lost to ST and the defense being a sift. It's still the Bears but nothing to overblow here. This is still a very injured team with 22 players on I.R. but the core is mostly intact and might be getting Gould and Kittle back.
Let's see the game plan for next week.

You think if Kyle had Mahomes/Allen/Watson he would be running the same exact passing game? He wouldn't be using their skill set? come on man.
You must have missed the absolute bomb he completed right before half.
Could be his mechanics issues are related to how he feels about protection and if he sees the throw fast enough to take the time to get his feet into it.

It looked like CHI was in C4(I haven't seen the coaches film to confirm) and it was a Mills concept and the middle quarter safety jumped on the intermediate route.

You mean other areas like throws to the sidelines? Cause I'm not sure Jimmy has completed one yet…
That's exactly what I'm referring to. Before anyone thinks I'm moving goalposts, I'm not the one that's been harping about going deep. I'm the one that posted a Next Gen passing chart and drew a half circle over the middle of the field to highlight how the SF passing offense won't target outside the numbers. And that's because I've noticed safeties cheating towards the middle of the field and smacking Deebo Kittle as soon as they catch a pass over the short/intermediate area.
I think I'm in the same camp as you tbh.
I really don't care if we're not throwing deep… the point is to be less like predictable. And that's exactly what we've been for most of the season.
I'm happy Jimmy was able to attack more parts of the field this game.

Yes he seems to struggle with good form. Ive noticed he'll often fire a pass without turning his hips and stepping properly into it and i believe this is why he is often inaccurate with seemingly easy throws

Kyle's had 5 years to get ONE deep threat and has punted every single time for LOS separators and YAC monsters. Trey's in the house and he still didn't do it.
Are you sure that's what he wants or is that what he inherited and decided to use as an OC?
His speed wasn't used because we didn't have the QB to use his speed.
kyle has had Jimmy as his QB for most of his tenure and has formed a offense around his $100M QB. Crazy I know
lol its sadly true isn't it.
What's true? Goodwin was healthy for all of about 6 games outside of 2017 with Jimmy. And in 5 games Goowdin had over 500 yards in 2017. This makes zero sense.

Garoppolo got Goodwin a big contract extension who was nothing before or after literally, kills the original take. So weird.

I believe that's exactly what it was. You can tell Dwelley(?) ran the Dig and that opened up the Post.

No question about that. He's very unlikely to step up and throw with great feet. Some of that is his personal preference and some is his fear of getting murdered from the poor PP over the years (125 hits a year will do that to a brain - football PTSD). I have the fan version of it.
